Not another word about SEC referees

You hear me, Big Ten people? Not a damn word about any SEC conspiracies.

That Iowa-Indiana game was the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Questionable calls went to Iowa. A touchdown for Indiana was reversed on replays that never came close to showing enough proof to reverse the call on the field.

I'm saying it: I firmly believe those Big Ten referees, whether on their own or at the behest of the league, did what they had to do to keep the Big Ten's only BCS title candidate undefeated. And given how bad Iowa was for 3 1/2 quarters, they had to do a lot.

If you're a Top 25 voter and you don't vote Iowa down -- as in, worse than last week -- after this game, then you didn't watch the game. Or you didn't know what you were watching.

A touchdown for Indiana was reversed on replays that never came close to showing enough proof to reverse the call on the field.Did you not see the ball after he hit the ground. When he draged his foot and hit the ground the ball moved from his chest down to his stomach, that movement was when he was outofbounds. As i recall to have complete possession you have to have control of the ball as you come to the ground .When he hit the ground, the ball moved from his chest down to his stomach and waist, as the back view replay will show.If you watched and Notre Dame games this year it is like when the M.floyyd td was called back against Mich because when he caught it and hit the ground it moved just like it did for the Ind player in the iowa game.

Im a huge IU fan and i totally agree with u Doyel. its been like this almost all year for IU. we got screwed in Michigan when we had that game and now against Iowa and i been saying it all year that big 10 officals are just tring to keep Iowa unbeaten so they can get to the national title game so the conference their millions. we could easly be 7-2 and this season has just been sickening

Important win for Iowa.  The important thing is Iowa won.  B*tchin about refs isn't going to take that away.  While you're entitled to your opinion it's great it doesn't matter...

Gregg, after thinking more about this, I think you might be onto something here.  When it was 21-7 and Indiana was inside the Iowa 10 yard line, ready to make it 28-7, the Big Ten officials huddled together and said "no way we're going to let this happen" and proceeded to have the ball ricochet off of 4 or 5 players and have it fall into Sash's hands so he could return it for a touchdown to make it 21-14.  I don't know how the refs were able to pull that off, but hell, we both know the Iowa games are rigged and they were able to pull that play off nicely.   A lesser man would just believe that was a lucky play, but not you Gregg, you are too smart for that.  Good for you sir....good for you.

LOL Doyel had little credibility before, but now he has none. Wahhh! Call a Wahhhmbulance Doyel! Are you an Indiana grad or something? Not sure what game you watched b/c Indiana scored a touchdown on the very next play after their td was called back. SO your arguement is irrelevant. Thank you come again fool!

Whatever, man.  That was more of a joke than a complaint, anyway.

And they didn't suck.  The defense stepped up big to keep Indiana off the board after almost all of those turnovers.

And the refs gave the game to Iowa??  Only one of those reversals was even close to being controversial.  It was really hard to tell if his foot came down before his knee hit out of bounds.  The others were all pretty clear cut, though.

Maybe you should watch the game a little more closely, considering it's your job?

Gregg, if you truly believe that referees are trying to control the outcome of the Iowa Hawkeye games, then I suggest you stop watching them and stop writing about them. Continue to vote them down and try to convince your fellow writers/voters that the undefeated Hawkeyes belong below 1 loss teams in the standings because the refs are winning the games for them. That sounds like a great career move and probably should go near the top of your resume.
