Terrelle Pryor thinks you're stupid

Posted on: January 2, 2011 11:19 am

Full disclosure: I want to believe in Ohio State. I live in Ohio, my two kids will attend college most likely in Ohio, and my goal is that they attend Ohio State.

So this question is not coming from a Buckeyes basher when I ask the following:

How stupid does Terrelle Pryor think we are?

The memorabilia he sold, against NCAA rules, basically got a free pass from me. Seriously, check out my reaction to the story that Pryor and four teammates would be suspended next season, but be allowed to play Tuesday night in the Sugar Bowl. I loved that reaction from the NCAA. If my reaction was pro-Ohio State, so be it. I'm an Ohio guy, and my initial thoughts were of other Ohio residents.

But this story ...

This car story ...

Complete garbage. Everything about it stinks, from the alleged NCAA crime to the announced excuse. All of it. Garbage.

In a nutshell, Pryor has a habit of getting his hands on cars -- nice cars -- from Columbus-area dealerships, and then getting caught speeding in them. Someone smarter than me, please figure out the odds on that:

Pryor has these cars -- nice cars -- for a day or two, and without fail, he gets caught speeding. In that tiny, day-or-two window of time.

Every time.

Garbage.

I don't believe it. Sorry, I don't. I don't believe Pryor had those cars for only a day or two. I don't believe the car dealer. I don't believe Ohio State. I don't believe any of you.

I still want my kids to go to Ohio State. But at the moment, I want Terrelle Pryor to turn pro after the Sugar Bowl. Don't come back next season. I can live with you avoiding punishment for your memorabilia "ignorance."

But I'm not sure I can stomach the sight of you in an OSU uniform in 2011. That'll be my kids' school, you know. And Terrelle Pryor is starting to make me sick.

So we are to believe that everyone gets a loaner from a used car dealership when their car is being repaired?  Seriously, no one does loaner cars anymore.  And we're supposed to buy the story that the same guy keeps giving Pryor loaners, even when he's worked at two different dealerships during all this?  The place he works now does claim to give out loaners to anyone so maybe I could buy that if it was the only one.  But it's a Chevy dealership.  I guess it makes complete sense to get that new engine for your Dodge Charger at a Chevy Dealership.  I mean, that's where I would go.  And I usually talk to the salesmen when my car is being repaired.  Definitely.  Not the service department, nope.  Just the sales people who have cars to lend me.
And I love how he got to "test drive" a car all the way to PA to show it to his mom.  He ended up not buying the car, so it's lucky he got to take it there to have people he trusts look at it.  Oh noooo, that's not a free rental car for being who he is or anything.  I'm sure a lot of OSU students get to test drive cars 400 miles to show them to their parents.
According to the Columbus Dispatch article, "About two dozen autographed jerseys hang inside Auto Direct's office, including those from Pryor, running back Daniel Herron and receiver DeVier Posey."
I'm sure those are completely unrelated to all these "loaners" and "test drives"... I mean Pryor doesn't have a record of selling memorabilia or anything.
But I am already in the camp that believes those 5 players should be suspended for the bowl game and the first four games of next year. I don't understand the suspension of their suspensions...  Even though it's a stupid rule that you can't sell what is yours, they all know they aren't allowed to that.

Where's Dodd on this?  He was the one holding Pryor up to the world as a poster boy for the perfect NCAA athlete, while tearing Reggie Bush, Pete Carroll and USC apart.

Cam Newton thinks you're stupid

Replace Pryor with Newton and it works.  Only Newton is right.

Terrelle Pryor thinks you're stupid

Rose wasnt picked up for buying drugs.  He was in a known drug house.  He didnt have drugs on him.  He didn't have a wad of cash.  There was nothing linking him to the drug activity in the house.

On the other hand, Pryor has been caught driving more than one car "on loan" from a dealership in Columbus.  The conversation at hand isnt about just committing felonies, it is about who is breaking the rules in college sports.  And the point of the article is that there seems to be a lot of reason to believe that Pryor is breaking the rules.

Rose hanging out in a crack house is dumb, but that doesnt break the rules of the NCAA and it isn't a felony.

You're obviously very unbiased in this conversation as you are bringing up a University of Michigan incident from EIGHTEEN years ago.  If you're not pro-osu, I would guess pro-MSU.

Terrelle Pryor thinks you're stupid

I for one am not pro OSU.  Heck no!!  I'm not anti SEC either.  Was only pointing out the hypocrisy of protecting the kids/program.  I do draw the line when the kid beats on his girlfriend or commits a felony.  Last I checked, driving a car, is not a felony, unless it is stolen.  It wasn't.  Neither is speeding nor do I care.  Regarding Jalen Rose.  Whether or not the crackhouse belonged to someone he knew doesn't change the fact that he was picked up for buying drugs.  Michigan is no different than the rest as to how he got off and the excuses.  My example was just fine.

Joe McNight was suspended for the Emerald Bowl last year because he drove his girlfriend's boss's car for one day.  This is how the NCAA hands out due process.

Terrelle Pryor thinks you're stupid

Wow!!!   Not surprised at the pro-OSU sentiments, but at the same time, the "concrete" evidence is that Pryor is getting caught driving cars from local dealerships over and over again.

And bringing Michigan into it is nice.  Jalen Rose was at his friends house that was busted for drugs.  Sure he hung around the wrong crowd, but that was not one of Michigan's wrong doings.  Webber admitted to taking money.  That's a far better example.

Coachk61,
Great use of circular reasoning.  Clarett and Prior are not the only kids to have played at OSU.  Give me any school and I will give you a list of classless athletes, along with a list of athletes that actually have class.
Posting limited thoughts like this makes you look ignorant.  Try not to take the focus off of Pryor and Clarett next time.

Terrelle Pryor thinks you're stupid

Yea he had the issue with the tattoo artist, but what can you do when all you have is an annomynous source saying he gave them autographs for cars. The guy does have signatures and jerseys, but not from just Pryor, but from other Buckeyes and past buckeyes as well. No other Buckeyes have been identified as giving there autograph for a car ride. Also dealerships do give people cars to drive if they have to leave there car at the dealership to get fixed. I had to do it as well, when i had to replace a radio in my car, it was Free as well. So don't think he is special on that account.
So basically, find some hard concrete evidence and i will believe, until then i am not jaded enough to think he is just guilty. How would you feel if someone said you did it with out a shed of proof. What if you get punished for doing something you knew you didn't do, but someone said you did it.
Get over your self all those who think he is wrong on this account just because someone gave a tip. Hell, i could write OSU A letter claiming something. Geeze
