LeBron is stupid, gutless

Posted on: January 13, 2011 8:09 am

The title pretty much says it all, doesn't it? LeBron James is a moron, and LeBron James is a coward. This stuff is obvious, but James hasn't gotten to the point -- doesn't deserve to ever get to the point -- where his crimes against common sense and courtesy should be ignored or written off as old news.

Although it is getting rather old. In a delightful, how-low-can-he-go sort of way.

The latest was James' declaration that "karma is a b----" after Cleveland was routed by 55 points by the Lakers on Tuesday night. Shortly after the game went final, James sent out his Tweet heard 'round the world, commenting on karma and concluding that "'God sees everything!"

James never mentioned Cleveland specifically, but he didn't have to. The timing was obvious. The implication was clear. Cleveland had been mean to him when he left for the Heat, the townsfolk burning his jersey and the owner firing off a red-hot letter to the fans vowing to win a title before "the self-proclaimed King."

After that 55-point loss to the Lakers, Cleveland had the worst record in the NBA. Miami was No. 1 in the East. Karma, James told us, is a b----.

After the world recoiled in disgust at James' cruelty, James backed off: That Tweet wasn't directed at Cleveland. He didn't say who it was directed to, didn't say specifically or even give a hint generically, meaning that was a lie right up there with "the dog ate my homework" or "I had no idea what the word contraction meant."

And in case anyone saw through the transparency of his lie that he hadn't been talking about Cleveland, James said something else: That wasn't even him who wrote that Tweet. Here's a hint to James, and to future liars everywhere: When you're giving two different excuses, telling two completely unrelated stories to cover your tracks, you're busted. You know it. We know it.

So finally, after the contraction fiasco followed by this Tweet nonsense, what we know is this: James isn't smart enough to know when he's about to say something stupid. And he isn't brave enough to stand behind his words when the world calls him on his stupidity.

At this point, maybe he should just shut up.

@ shadyunc14 (your age possibly?)

"your probably the same types of people who get mad when someone on a team overcelebrates a TD but when a player on your team does it you like it.....Your probably the same people who hated TO when he was on the niners and the eagles but loved him when he was in Dallas, same with when Deon Sanders switched teams..."

If by that you mean educated people with common sense then guilty as charged!

Another negative, and awful article from this clown of a "writer". What's even more pathetic is the amount of people leaving comments that agree with this guy. LeBron carried the Cavs for years and Gilbert was too cheap to get any real talent around him. Yes, LeBron probably should have given Gilbert some notice that he was leaving, if not out of courtesy for him then for his now former teammates; but Gilbert was by all accounts an absolute joke. Everyone wants to criticize LeBron, but nobody wants to acknowledge what a jackass Gilbert is.

1. The best he could put around LeBron was an over the hill Shaq and Mo Williams. You wonder why your team could never win Gilbert? Try getting a legitimate low post scoring threat.

2. Gilbert didn't care about Lebron. He looked at him as an asset and not a friend. He looked like even more of an idiot when he came out with those comments about LeBron after he left. If you treat people like crap, that's how they will treat you back. As a result, you get your star player leaving and dissing you. He didn't do it for no reason at all, although that's probably what Doyel would think.

3 (and last). When the Cavs fans booed LeBron in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year, did they really think he was going to come back? What a great idea, let's boo our star player who turned the franchise around singlehandedly. That will really make him feel welcome after all he's done.

Sorry Gilbert and Cleveland, but you got what you deserved. If I was LeBron, I'd be feeling the same way right now. Considering the way the Cavs have fallen since LeBron left, how can you blame him? Those are the guys who he had around him for his entire career up until this point.

The Tweet was directed at a PERSON

it's pretty obvious.

Whether it was Dan Gilbert or a Cavs player, whatever. He has done this repeatedly -- indirectly talk to someone specific through a subliminal quote.

Lebron is a great basketball player and if he wants to talk smack about his old team who talked about him on multiple occasions, good.  Thats called competitive and part of the game, your probably the same types of people who get mad when someone on a team overcelebrates a TD but when a player on your team does it you like it.....Your probably the same people who hated TO when he was on the niners and the eagles but loved him when he was in Dallas, same with when Deon Sanders switched teams

The difference here is that the above athletes owned up to their behavior instead of shrunk away like flip-flopping politician.

LBJ had better talent than this Cavs team

A quick correction to those posts above that draw comparisons from this year’s Cavs team with the teams that James played with the last few years.   This year’s Cleveland team doesn’t even come close to resembling last year’s  You are missing Shaq, West, Ilgauskas (who apparently wasn’t a good enough player to surround James last year but is curiously starting for the Heat this year) and have had limited games from Mo Williams, Anthony Parker and Anderson Varajao due to injuries.  With that fact in mind, it’s understandable that this team has the worst record in the league.  In fact, it puts them in line to have a great lottery pick. Hmmmm.  So, while it’s no surprise the Cavs aren’t competing this year, let’s not pretend that James didn’t have the talent to win in Cleveland.  Maybe if he hadn’t quit in the Boston series things would be different.

LeBron is stupid, gutless

As much as I would like many athletes to keep their mouths shut, society today begs and demands otherwise.  His comments, even the stupid ones keep him in the news.  And if individuals, teams, businesses aren't on Twitter or Facebook or any other social media outlet they don't exist in today's world. So we need to realize this and just realize that with the good we're going to get a whole lot of bad.  Frankly, what LeBron felt or now maybe didn't mean or really didn't even feel is exactly what many of would have said after being treated poorly by another.  True, he started it by going to Miami AND making a big deal out of it.  And any other reaction by the people of Cleveland would have been disappointing frankly, but to keep the story going as he did with the tweet is unnecessary. His move to the Heat is old news. Win the championship and be done with it.  (Certainly hope he doesn't but until he does his reasons why he hasn't will outnumber the criticism he'll take for not winning.)

Lebron is an extremely wealthy half-wit in tennis shoes.  But until or unless he's ever a part of a championship team........he ain't no king.
