NCAA attacks Boise State's nickels and dimes

Ohio State employs a football coach who hid violations by his star player, violations that would have made that player ineligible -- an ineligibility that would have rendered Ohio State something short of the Big Ten champion it became.

The NCAA decided that Ohio State has institutional control.

Then along comes Boise State. That school saw 79 student-athletes in several sports receive excessive lodging, travel and meals worth $5,652 over four years. That might sound like a lot, but it's not. It's an average cost of $71 in excess items per player. That's one lunch here, one cab ride there. That's nothing, in the grand scheme of things -- and it's certainly nothing nefarious.

The NCAA decided Boise State lacks institutional control.

This, NCAA, is why so many people think you're so full of crap. Because you think Ohio State is on top of things. And you think Boise State isn't.

The NCAA is not done with tOSU yet. So i dont see what your getting at doyle.  Your taking a jab at the buckeyes and they are not even off the hook yet.  I do agree with many other posters on here, that is all about the money.  I am not sure but I think tOSU makes the most cash for the NCAA, that being said you could say that for any sport or about our government  etc  etc.  I am sorry you had to live in ohio and are a FL grad doyle maybe if you didnt  you would not have as much anger towards my beloved school. I doubt it though.

Ohio State is part of the BCS network while Boise State is not. You need to protect your own.

Doyel's good for the occassional infamatory commentary (that I do read), but this is curt, blunt, and I sure hope someone with some authority sees it.

Well said Doyel.  Utter BS.  No other way to classify this.

Some may even say retaliation, after Gene Bleymaier's comments publicly calling out the NCAA and the BCS.

Auburn and Ohio State, pass buddies.  Wink

The reason is simple and we know it. OSU is a media darling that makes the NCAA a lot of money. The truth is their football program should be shut down for a couple years. If Calipari got caught doing this at UK they would get killed!!!!!
