Donte Whitner is a bad guy

Posted on: August 5, 2011 11:49 am
Donte Whitner is a liar and a fraud, and the Bengals have had plenty of those over the years. Good riddance to you, Whitner. Didn't want you in Cincinnati anyway.

But the way he went about his business, choosing the 49ers over the Bengals ...

Disgraceful. Just awful. Donte Whitner had come to terms with the Bengals -- agreed on a contract and everything -- and then pulled a Carlos Boozer and took more money from someone else.

On the intellectual side, I get it. X dollars from one team, or X-plus-Y dollars from another? You choose X-plus-Y ...

... unless you've already given your word to the team offering X. And then you stick by your word, because that's what an honorable person does.

Whitner isn't honorable. He's a clown. And then, after Tweeting that he had would play for the Bengals, he had the gall to Tweet that he would play for the 49ers instead and credited God for the change of plans.

As if God would approve of the way Donte Whitner went about this whole thing.

Stupid. Appalling. Self-centered.

Given all that, Whitner would have been the perfect Bengal. But we're getting rid of clowns like that in Cincinnati, so it's for the best that this one didn't come here after all.

Donte Whitner is a bad guy

I heard Cedric Benson was going to get drunk and beat him up, so he made the smart move going to san franciso.  Where would you rather play Cincinatti or San Fran.  I applaud whitner for making the right choice.

Donte Whitner is a bad guy

This is laughably bad journalism. Last minute U turns happen all the time. Furthermore the party that usually changes it's mind is the team not the player making it all the more ridiculous that this Doyel clown wants to use this forum for a childish, ill informed tantrum. THere's no real story here. Just an idiot who got upset without taking the time to think about what he's crying about. Grow up.

Donte Whitner is a bad guy

Are you kidding me?!  After all the BS owners and the NFl pulls over on players you're going to chastise a guy for looking out for his families' best interest? Would you take a higher paying job or a lower paying job?  DUH!  Nothing is certain until a contract is signed.  I gaurantee you if Donte stuck with this contract and under the same circumstances Eric Berry or another rising, or even established Safety superstar came to the Bengals and said I want to play for you the Bengals would have cut off nagotiations with Donte and let him go elsewhere.  You people are brainless when it comes to this type of stuff.  All you do is sit back and judge another man for wanting more for his I judge people on their brainless comments.  Consider yourself a moron!  Donte did what was right for himself and is also considered justifiable in business, which is what the owners always call football when it comes to contracts.  Think before you speak, please it's embarrassing for the human race.

Donte Whitner is a bad guy

Just a quick question: Has he been in the news for DUI/stabbing/getting stabbed/getting a friend shot/brawling in a strip club/punching a fan/grabbing women/raping women/selling-taking drugs/not paying jewelry tabs/eating drugs or dog fighting?  --- He hasn't?  Then howabout you just let a man change his mind at the last second and earn his keep.  --  What a silly, childish rant.  Personally, if I had been offered LESS money to play for any other team AND escape Cincy, I would've thanked God too AND left town by train, plane or automobile, whichever left first. -- just sayin'....

Donte Whitner is a bad guy???

I think the real travesty here is once again, my Bills lose out on a great draft pick.  We are the farm team for the nfl it seems.......nate clements, antoine winfield to name a few...........we draft, develop the players..........but instead of keeping the players and drafting another position............the bills somehow manage to let that player go, and have to use a draft pick at the same there any doubt that they have been rebuilding for the last 17 years?....when most teams do it in quite less time..............except perhaps, the Bungals!

he got a better offer at the last minute and a lot more guaranteed money. The NFL is a business and you only have so many years to make your living. It would have been ridiculous for him to turn down money because of "commitment" or "honor". It's not the Bengals Would hesitate to release him from him contract if it suited them. Where is the honor in that. On another note. Your Carlos Boozer reference is terrible. Carlos was under team control in Cleveland and gave assurances that he would resign with them after his rights were released. Cleveland released his rights and He bolted for Utah. Essentially lying to the Cavs face. Whitmer's situation was nothing like that. Your rant was over the top and unwarranted.
