Big East reduced to WVU, Potsie and Ralph Malph

As if it hasn't jumped the shark already ... if the BCS doesn't take away the automatic bid from the Big East for the 2012 season, I'd ask the following:

Who's running the BCS? Arthur Fonzarelli?

Listen, I live in Cincinnati and don't enjoy the watering down of my own backyard football program, but facts are facts. And the fact is, the Big East probably didn't deserve a BCS bid at full strength -- and the Big East definitely won't deserve a BCS bid next year, barring something crazy like Notre Dame (or Texas) joining.

And since the Big East is looking instead at schools like East Carolina, Central Florida and Memphis ... well, there you have it. This is not a BCS league.

This is not even the Mountain West.

No offense to you, Mountain West.

And no offense to you, either, West Virginia. The Mountaineers deserve better than to be in such a weakened league, but that's where West Virginia is. Surrounded by mediocre, at best, football schools. And West Virginia plus a whole host of mediocre football schools does not equal a BCS bid.

I mean, that's not an even an opinion.

That's a fact.

WoJo, I don't see that as a fact.  Too small of a state, don't add enough viewers.  They could be Harvard-like and they'd still be left out of the B10.

Under current BCS guidelines, the Big East should be safe - as long as they don't lose WVU, Cincy, Louisville, and UConn.

UCF finished in the BCS Top 25 last year, so believe it or not, that will actually help the Big East keep their AQ status.

How does WVU deserve better?  Their academics is fodder and the graduation rate is very low.  If they had higher standards, they'd be in the ACC instead...

It is probably a fact that there is a pickup truck full of Mountaineers' fans heading for the Cincinnati suburbs at this moment with one clear goal: BURNING GREGG DOYEL'S COUCH! You might as well carry it out to the curb and set it afire yourself Mr. Doyel.

While West Virginia is clearly the class of Big East football, Louisville's team isn't that bad and South Florida has been winning a lot lately.
