Steelers 35, Bengals 7

PITTSBURGH -- These aren't the same old Bengals.

I'm not saying that for your benefit, but mine. I'm sitting here, staring at my computer, telling myself not to go off on the Bengals. Telling myself to remember how improved the Bengals have been this season, how promising. Telling myself to fight the urge. Not so I can be nice here in a minute when I return from the locker rooms to write this game column -- but so I can at least avoid being cruel.

But cruel seems like a plausible option, given what just happened here.

The Steelers were good, yes, but the Bengals were horrible. They were so horrible, I wish Chad Ochocinco was back in uniform -- just so he could have experienced this defeat. That's how bad this 35-7 loss to the Steelers was for Cincinnati.

Ochocinco bad.

Quitting bad.

Pathetic bad.

Good thing I've decided not to be cruel, huh? Yeesh. Back soon.

@Lost Angel

If you think Dillon is the best player to ever put on a Bengals uniform, then I am speechless.

@chrris24

That argument holds no water. The Bengals were the consensus worst team in the NFL at the beginning of the season. Whether their schedule was "easy" or not, 7 wins is about 6 more than most people thought they would get. The face that every game they've played outside of this one has been one possession also destroys your argument. Injuries have hit them hard lately as well. They're not an elite team, but they're still good.

The Bengals are still good. This game turned very early when they had a FG wiped out by a penalty and then had the second attempt blocked..

The Bengals are a product of their schedule, I kept telling everyone to wait for this stretch,,,,steelers,ravens,browns,steelers,texans. At least the get another break, the Texans with a 3rd string qb and no Andre Johnson. Look at the Bengals wins and the qbs they have beaten. I called 4 out of 5 losses for them but the Texans looking a little easier now.

Ouch. That was harsh.

Yet true.

That's coming from a Bengals fan.

Hopefully they get better down the stretch.
