Broncos 29, Steelers 23 in OT

DENVER -- He's no longer a novelty, no longer a mystery, no longer a fluke. Tim Tebow is now a playoff-winning quarterback, and not because he managed this game.

He won it.

With Tebow tying two franchise records set by John Elway and throwing the winning touchdown pass in overtime, the Broncos defeated the Steelers 29-23 Sunday to advance to the next round of playoffs, next weekend at New England.

Tebow threw for 316 yards and ran for 50, and produced touchdowns each way. He joined Elway as the only Denver quarterbacks in the postseason to (1) complete two 50-yard passes and (2) throw and run for a touchdown, both in the same game.

Tebow needed just 10 completions to surpass the 300-yard mark, throwing rarely but gouging the Steelers for huge chunks of yardage when he did. That included his 80-yarder to Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime for the winning points.

Thomas finished with 204 yards on four catches.

The backward pass first of all was a horrible play call by the Steelers.  They tried that play 2 or 3 times earlier in the game and Denver was all over it.  At that point, wasn't worth the risk.  As for the officials call, they should've called it a lateral, but they didn't.  Blown call, plus they blew the whistle early so the "recovery" never actually happened

You know what guys? i just enjoyed a VERY entertaining   game of football today and came on here to see what other fans thought of it. it seems 80 % of the posts are you guys just wasting your time  trashing that mulatto dude who wished an injury on  tebow. Why not just ignore him and talk about the game itself.Mulatto is just trying to get you guys going, why don't you ignore his nonsense. I was today trying to explain today to my 8 year old daughter about football and how you have to catch the ball but keep both feet on the green side of the line ,blah blah  blah and i'm telling her people dont like Tim Tebow because they think he cant throw very well ,but then he's busting those 40 or 50 yarders and I'm teaching her the "very lame "TEEBOWWW TEEBOWWW chant and we had a great father daugter day. Thats what I find to be a fun sunday afternoon.( plus lots of beers).I'm a Dolphin fan so I will take my entertainment where I can get it.

Mulatto is a Troll! Don't let him bug you or respond to his posts.

Great game for both teams. Sorry that one team had to lose. Gutsy performance by Big Ben. Tebow, you made me a believer. At least we now have two "Cinderellas" to pull for in the nex tround of games. Can't wait.

Oh yeah, another nice article Gregg. How do you do it?

So sad to see a bunch of grown men who I grew up watching as a kid in the NFL make a tasteless gesture on the post game show and making fun of a fellow NFL player. Why not just sensationalize someone like PAC MAN Jones or any other thug in the NFL who are terrible role models. The kid is good, a great role model for kids. much more than a couple of Canton honorees who only make themselves look good now by beating up a kid that can finally share a special message. Grow up guys and don't give us any crap that it is "just T.V."

Tim Tebow did it and John Elway looks like a genuis.  This is great for Denver fans and for football.  Next week should be a challenge and I think there will be a different outcome as Tom Brady is going to throw for his usual and not sure Denver can do anything about it.

I was extremely offended by the CBS team of broadcasters "mocking" Tim Tebow's honor to the Lord.  I know this pose has come to be known in the media as the "Tebow", but I think it needs to be respected and not made "fun of".  Even though I don't like it when Saturday Night Live mocks him, I can accept it more easily than when professional broadcasters rehearse their own act of mockery.  It makes me wonder that if there happened to be a Muslim player in the NFL who paid a religious tribute of some sort to Mohammad during or after a game, would the same reinactment be done by the CBS broadcasters????  I seriously doubt it would be even considered.  How "politically incorrect" that would be!!!!  I'm so tired of this double standard in the media.  I'm very shocked by this classless display on the part of the CBS Broadcast Team!

How about you explain to me why Tebow get a pass Vick has never got instead of pulling out your red marker over a internet post.

The Game never should have been that close , the officals badly blew that backwards pass that gives denver points and pittsburgh doesn;t march down the field to get a TD , also pittsburgh had two Blatant facemasks NOT called that would have kept drives going , But everyone Knows That to Beat The Stealers you have to beat the officals also  !!
