Cowardly Jets rear their cowardly heads

As if the Jets could be even more dislikeable, we have this: Multiple players ripping starting quarterback Mark Sanchez in the most gutless way possible. No, not on Twitter. See, using Twitter would have required attaching their name to it.

The Jets? They ripped Sanchez anonymously through the New York Daily News.

And this is not me defending Sanchez. It's not. He could well be "lazy," as one gutless wonder told the newspaper. He could be a "baby," as another gutless Jet said. It's entirely possible that "he goes in a hole when someone tells him the truth," as someone sniveled.

But there's a right way to do things, and a wrong way, and damn if the Jets don't take the wrong way every ... single ... time.

No need to list the transgressions here -- CBSSports.com's server holds just 14.74 kajillion megabytes -- but idiots are aplenty. Rex Ryan, Santonio Holmes, Bart Scott and all these gutless wimps ripping Sanchez anonymously ...

The only person in the organization with any gumption is the backup quarterback, Greg McElroy, who attached his name to some fierce criticism last week. Everyone else? Gutless. No wonder the team choked all season.

Doyel, quit writing shit that I agree with. Next thing I know I will be shaving my head, growing a goatee, and start spray tanning.

Don't forget your sledgehammer.

This all comes back Tannenbaum and Ryan.  They have brought in players without regard to character and have allowed them free-reign

Well stated, jonnyteach. The idiots are running the asylum.

I said when the McElroy blog came out, and all these Jets fans were sayng "that idiot just ended his career, blahm blah, blah" that he was the only one to show guts on that team....and get messages threatening my life!  LMAO  Probably from some of the very same on here now saying whats balls McElroy has.

This all comes back Tannenbaum and Ryan.  They have brought in players without regard to character and have allowed them free-reign.  It is in adversity that people begin to show their true colors.  You build winning teams with quality people who don't start pointing around the room when something goes wrong.  I certainly hope for The Jets sake, they take a different approach to player personnel next season.

Ummm...CBS sportswriters* never seem to be able to name a source...All it ever is around these parts is "source said this, source said that."
Are CBS sportswriters* talking to cowards too?
An unnamed source at the New York Daily News asked me to to tell you "You first."

* if you could call them sportswriters

I would like to watch Doyel stroll into the Jet's locker room just to see these vermin scatter.
Gregg Doyel is the new Chuck Norris.

Have to agree 100%.  If the head of the team wasn't such a press whore maybe the team would have a little character to 'man up' and deal with this internally.   Even T.O. called out people on the sidelines instead of "anonymously" (did I just reference T.O in a positive mention)  ok, damn I'm done posting.

Personally, I think this stuff is best left out of the press entirely and confined to closed door team meetings. Doyel is right about it being gutless. "Idiots" is the perfect word for them.
