Indulge me for a second and imagine this was college football season. And imagine there was a team, late in the season, that was demonstrably better than almost everyone else, bearing down on a spot in the BCS title game. Imagine that team was, say, Alabama. And imagine it had the likely Heisman Trophy winner in, say, Mark Ingram.

And imagine the most famous college football analyst in America, when asked about the top teams and players in the country, never mentioning the words "Alabama" or "Mark Ingram."

Couldn't happen, right? I don't care who he is -- Lou Holtz, Kirk Herbstreit, Gary Danielson, whoever -- no analyst could get away with that.

So why is Bob Knight getting away with it?

Why won't Bob Knight say the words "Kentucky" or "Anthony Davis?"

Knight was on the Mike and Mike show today, and he was talking about some of the top teams in the country. He glowed about Syracuse but never mentioned Kentucky, which is odd considering Kentucky is No. 1 in both polls. Of the 96 available votes in the two polls combined, Kentucky received 94 this week. Kentucky is the leading candidate not just for a No. 1 seed, but for the No. 1 overall seed, and is the overwhelming favorite of Vegas oddsmakers to win the title.

But Knight doesn't want to mention the Wildcats -- coached by John Calipari, whom Knight has verbally attacked in the past.

You could chalk that up as a matter of opinion, as Knight being vintage contrarian Knight, but not when you combine it with another recent segment of his -- when he was talking about the best players in the country. He never mentioned Kentucky's Anthony Davis, which is odd considering the rest of the country considers Davis and Kansas' Thomas Robinson not just the leading candidates for national POY ... but the only candidates for national POY. And as an added bonus, Davis is the presumptive No. 1 overall pick if he enters the 2012 NBA Draft.

But Knight doesn't want to mention Davis -- coached by John Calipari, whom Knight has verbally attacked in the past.

This sort of thing, coming from an analyst, is about as brazen and ridiculous as a coach throwing a chair across the court or grabbing a player by the neck and having it caught on video.

So why is Bob Knight getting away with it?

Isiah Lord Thomas

You mean the SAME Isiah Thomas who single handedly destroyed the New York Knicks and is more hated in the city of New York than ARod? Hell, he cheated, and STILL couldn't finish better than second to last in the NBA.

One word for Thomas comes to mind. Loser.

Here is a good story on your "lord"/

Per Wikipedia:

Douche bag, or simply douche, is considered to be a  term. The slang usage of the term originated in the 1960s. The term usually refers to a person, usually male, with a variety of negative qualities, specifically  and engaging in obnoxious and/or irritating actions, most often without .

Also, see Bobby Knight.

Nobody has questioned his coaching career. We understand he won 3 National Titles. Buit, he also coached for 50+ years. Coach Cal has been coaching a WHOPPING 20 years. IF you want to compare coaches, Gun, try comparing Knight to Adolph Rupp. You see, Rupp won 4 National Titles, was a better coach than Knight, and never abused people.

Oh, I never clicked on the link. No need to watch a video that was created by a public relations firm, hired by a Bobby Knight aopologist, who is simply trying to untaint the image of Bobby Knight being a horrible and GINORMOUS douchebag. You can't change the perceptions of people who already know/knew what a horrible person Bobby Knight was.

Sadly, this world would be a MUCH better place without people like Bobby Knight. May he die and SOON. Death by rectal cancer wouldn't be painful enough for what that piece of sheit deserves.

That was an awesome biography of the legendary and beloved Coach Knight.  Hopefully everyone watched and learned.  Three national championships with three different teams, with players including Hall of Famer Isiah Lord Thomas, who credited Knight for his success.

Fortunately, there were no TV shows on about John Calamari, probably because he has won 0 NCAA national championships. But if he had, it would have been vacated. Maybe Nickelodeon will run a special about the NIT and invite him to talk to the kids.  He could dress up as the Coach Calamari squid and be on Spongebob.

If there was a Cody Zellar that played for Indiana, I might consider him.  But there is no Cody Zellar that plays for Indiana.
