Morning! Rich-Rod is a liar!

Posted on: February 15, 2008 7:21 am

Let me ask you a serious question. If your wife and kids were physically threatened, would you try to protect them by going to police? Or would you just tell reporters from out-of-state newspapers and hope the threats were bogus? I'm not calling Rich Rodriguez a liar but ... oh. Right. The headline. I guess I already did.

Speaking of reasonable questions, here's another one: Does Mike Mussina's career become Hall-worthy when you consider he did it clean (he says ... and we agree) in a dirty era?

Speaking of the Yankees, here's another one: They changed the name of their spring home from a legend to a buffoon.

As if that crafty Coach K needed any help, he has been getting ideas from his time as the U.S. Olympics coach and using them to help Duke overachieve this season. Was that a nice sentence about Duke? By golly I believe it was.

Darius Miles can't make a basket, but he can still make it rain. I think I despise Darius Miles. And Dennis Dixon, pick a new role model you impressionable little knucklehead.

Holy crap I read this headline and I thought Zach Thomas died.

Turns out Thomas is alive and well, though he's about to make a date with the devil. The devil wears a hoodie.

Indiana is now officially trying to find a reason to fire Kelvin Sampson. I kind of thought Indiana already had that reason, but whatever. Any effort to replace Sampson with Mr. Clean, Dan Dakich, is a step in the right direction.

Pssst. Indiana! Here's your reason.

WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit would like to unify his belt one day with the UFC champion. Part of me says that's like a member of the Durham Bulls wanting to face Johan Santana. But part of me thinks Condit can compete at the highest level.

Morning! Rich-Rod is a liar!

No excuses for threats on kids, most likely by ignorant kids.  If they were credible, why does his family still reside in Morgantown and still go to the same school and live in the same house.  The threats on his nephew at East Fairmont, inexcusable but probably reactionary by another dumb kid.  I am sure that the nephew is a popular kid and well regarded by his class mates.  It is disengenuous to cry over the safety of your family but leave them in the place of perceived harm. Kind of like his "I was forced out of WVU and had to go to Michigan" statement revised from " Because its Michigan!"   A lot of us Mountaineers are ready to move on, just abide by the contract and pay the money.  The sooner it is resolved, the sooner Rich can focus on Michigan.  Even with all that has been said and done, Rich is a native Mountaineer and we will embrace him again in time.  Not sure that we will cheer for Michigan, that may be too much to ask.  Peace

Morning! Rich-Rod is a liar!

Mussina was ( by any objective standard) one of the top starters in the AL in 2006. He had one terrible year in 2007 and is probably done. Now, Maybe you meant he retired last year?

Morning! Rich-Rod is a liar!

I'm a UM season Ticket holder.  I'm not convinced that Rich-Rod was a great choice BUT, considering that signs threatening he and his family were posted in his yard and shown on television, chances are he is telling the truth about the threats.  It a stupid situation.  Rich pay the money and move on, and Oh Yeah you need a quarterback! Focus on that!

Rich-Rod is a liar! (But Clemens tells truth)

RR has more credibility than Roger, but you call RR a liar and say clemens may be telling the truth.

Morning! Rich-Rod is a liar!

I'm just curious but would UM have offered Les Miles more had they known their second choice was going to bring so much bad publicity and that Les Miles could beat Tressel?  Knowing what they know now do they regret not making Les Miles an offer he couldn't refuse?

HOF Considerations

All these monster numbers the past 20 years have kept one of the game's greats OUT of the Hall of Fame.  Jim Rice belongs there....  way before Mike I retired two years ago but forgot to tell my team Mussina.

Morning! Rich-Rod is a liar!

Doyle,  I don't always agree with your articles and rantings.  But a National media "type" has finally seen through DickRod's facade.  He finally showed his true personality when he left WVU.  I for one, am glad he is gone.  I just wish he'd pay up the 4 Million and we can ALL move on.

HOF considerations in the age of Juice

Players who played during any part of the steroid era and did it clean should get a little extra look when it comes to HOF selections. Moose would be one of those players.

Number one on that list is Jim Rice. While he was a monster for eight years, the rap on him (other than not being a press fave) is that his skills depreciated really rapidly. Well, they wouldn't have if he'd have been involved in PED's.

Of course the moment you start having this discussion, the point gets made that we really don't know clean from sterjuiced in any definitive manner.
