Another day, another Duke bust in the NBA

Posted on: March 18, 2008 7:31 am

Two fascinating things about the latest NFL player to get arrested on DUI charges: What he was doing when the cops caught him, and what piece of junk he was driving. You're in the NFL, dude. Get caught drunk in some better wheels.

Playing fullback in the NFL must be like being a left-handed reliever in the big leagues: Apparently anybody can do it.

Juan Gonzalez simply cannot stay healthy. It's almost as if his body has an unnatural amount of muscle, and breaks down under its weight and mass.

Paul Lo Duca simply cannot stay rational. It's almost as if he has some reason to be unnaturally full of rage.

The Seattle Times is getting all liberal and concerned for the poor who have to support an NBA franchise ... in Oklahoma City. What a crock.

The latest Duke bust in the NBA has been parceled to the D-league, never to be heard from again.

Karo Parisyan made a mess of The Ultimate Fighter when he went there to support Manny Gamburyan. And now the two aren't speaking?

With Spencer Fisher out for the next version of UFC Fight Night, meet the guy replacing him in the fight against Marcus Aurelio.

Maybe jones felt comfortable getting loaded know that the altima has a 5-star crash safety rating. And maybe he left it running because he was getting such good gas mileage anyway!

Another day, another Duke bust in the NBA

Well well well I guess Duke is on you mind after all it is March. I don't get it there are a lot of basketball players on teams and you don't even know there names; all you know is that the Lakers have Kobe, which if Kobe would of played college ball he would of played for Duke (just a side note), Now Boston not only has a good football team, the Pats which I hate; GO J.E.T.S. JETS JETS JETS, but now they have a good basketball team but can you name half the players of the 2 teams I just named, maybe not or maybe so but who cares. If Josh would of gone to a good team then his playing time wouldn't matter because the ball would always go to Kobe. Just because they come out of Duke doesn't mean they are going to be great, keep in mind they don't take Coach K with them and they don't have the same rules in the NBA as they do in the NCAA. Like in the NBA you can't have a hand on the other player and in the NCAA you can which becomes a more physical game then the ones in the NBA; yea the NBA has high scores and thats not because of the players thats because you can't do nothing to the other player but foul them or put a hand in the face. If all you can do is put hands in the face to block the view of the basket then give a 10 year old a foam hand the reads #1 and they will be able to block the view, too, just like they do when you go to the game. Come on people it's the NBA they are grown men, they can take it, the youngsters in the NCAA can and so can you. As for Josh and all the players, keep in mind that the NBA has different rules you have to be star to get star treatment but all you can do is play real basketball and your a team player well the NBA is not for you. It's time to ball hog!!!

Another day, another Duke bust in the NBA

Duke has had some bust to say the least but you can never discount the greatness of Grant Hill in his prime. He was a consistent triple-double threat and he was one of the top 5 players in the league. At 35 he is still a solid defender and great mid-range shooter. Elton Brand was a consistent 20/10 guy before getting hurt. Cory Maggette is having a career year and so is Mike Dunleavy who put up 37 last night. Loul Deng is also a very good player who demolished The Miami Heat in the playoffs last year. Jason Williams would have been good if he didn't decide to invest in a motorcycle. Chris Duhon is a great perimeter defender who scored 44 in a game this year. I know that's only so many out of all the great Duke teams but I can't forget Shane Battier who absolutely shut down Kobe Bryant a few days ago.

As a Tigers fan, glad Juan Gonzalez didn't sign the 7-year $140 million dollar contract we offered him a while back.  We would still have him holding our team back today.  Sometimes the best deals are the ones not made.

Another day, another Duke bust in the NBA

Jacoby Jones was driving a nice car.  Maybe he's not an insecure, immature jerk who needs to show off his fleeting wealth with gaudy ride.  Then again, his actions in the car don't appear to be very mature.
