Dog starting to wag Paterno's tail

About time, Penn State.

About time someone there began taking control of a program that has run completely out of control under the blind watch of Joe Paterno.

Two players have been kicked off the team, and it just so happens they were kicked off the team within days of a brutal, but accurate, investigative report by ESPN's Outside the Lines. The report found lawless Penn State has become the new Miami, the new Oklahoma, the new Bengals. The report was incredible. And now two players -- two players Paterno had kept around -- are gone. Coincidence? I don't believe in coincidence.

It looks to me like the media might just be able to accomplish what the gutless Penn State administration and the selfish Penn State head coach cannot: Pressure on Paterno. Progress.

Next up: Paterno's forced resignation.

Time to go, Joe.

What do Doyel and Dodd have in common?

They are both incompetent morons that have no clue what they are talking about. Doyel, why are you insisting on re-hashing stuff that happened 1-2 months ago!? Until you go in there and see what he's done (with help from the senior leaders), SHUT UP! You don't know one ioda about Penn State sports. SO  GO AWAY! How come nothing has happened since those two were kicked off the team?

I hope you get thrown under the bus once Penn State does well in the rest of the season.

Oh and by the way...  How much money do you give back to your alma mater? if you even went to college. Yeah, unless it's more than 3 million dollars, don't talk.

Why am I always amazed -- and depressed -- at a fan's ability to rationalize anything? This really is incredible. The entire country can see what's happening at Penn State, but the average Penn State fan cannot.

And yet if what was happening at Penn State was happening at, say, Michigan ... Penn State fans would be screaming and laughing and loving it. But when it happens in their own backyard ... "nothing to see here, folks. Keep moving."

Unbelievable.

I don't think it is rationization when for example georgia had a 5 man fight charges were filed and PSU had a five man fight and charges were filed. Yet you are accusing 1 institution of a lack of control and not the other. If anything the articles should read unfortuantelly PSU has now joined the ranks of other schools like georgia, Tennessee, ect.  additionally having two years of reporting on the same fight.

Basiclly the difference to me is the Georgia fight will be buried next week while PSU fight will live on for the next ten years.

Where is Doyle now?

5 more from georgia. That would be at least 10 counts. If this trend continues, how can you ignore richt as not loosing control by any definition you established?

and of course CBS did not pick it up just reported on ESPN.

This can go on all year. Team after team yet no outrage no questioning.

If that is not proof of bias than what is.

Doyle,

What no outrage for a 1 game suspension of players on Georgia's team? 1 game --- the Georgia southern game

Why isn't richt loosing control?

There was a second offence for one of the players involved. Why no outrage?

I am seeing right through you and if your going to be irresponsible with your position, I will call you out on it.  Find out more and get back to us.

Doyel, are you out there?  I see you just posted some drivel on Steve Smith, completely missing the competitiveness side of the story and instead focusing on your arm-wrestling adventures.  Do you have anything to add to society besides calling for people's heads and using your position as a bully pulpit?

How about doing a whole story on the transgressions of college athletes (or better yet, college students) and seeing how Penn State fits in.   You see people, the media is upset at Joe because he doesnt care about them, never has really, he wont decide when he's retiring and they are tired of asking, so they have started a witch hunt to get him fired because they want a story and they want to find out who the successor is; who gives a crap about an old football coach, we're selling advertising here.

I am sick of the attacks on JoePa.  I was a dumb 20 year old once myself.  Kids make stupid decisions, and they get in trouble it happens in life.  It was not my parents fault that I did what i did.  JoePa is not the one beating up students, he is a coach and gives them direction and if they go a different path, then they live with the consequences.  I dont see any reports of how JoePa graduation rate is around 72%, that is close to where Ivy schools graduate.  Also i dont know if you remember but he can still coach 3 years ago they won the Big Ten and beat OSU.  They also ended up 3rd in the nation that year.  SO leave Joe alone, he will retire when he is ready, and he has earned that right.

why don't you tell us how you really feel!!!

Hey, buddy! Work has been extremely busy over the last few weeks. Right now, I am getting ready for the afternoon's meetings, so as I write up a position paper for meeting #2, I am visiting the boards for inspiration.

Some things can be sugar-coated and presented nicely. But, when I see people like Duh-yel and self-righteous fans from other schools/teams, I tend to be blunt, in order to penetrate their thick heads. It's necessary to whack 'em with a 2x4 in order to get their attention . . . .

For the Glory!!

have no accountability for their actions

Guilty as charged, Lion_Nation, but I will still hold a mirror up to these idiots.

Best to you!
