I'd like to get to know why all the Yankee hating

Now in all the years I've been a Yankee fan I've seen a lot of hatred for the Yankees.  (When I was younger it was weird to see people hate the Yankees as much as people do now) Now it is bitter hatred.  I don't know how old these fans are, how long they paid attention, why say a Brewers fan would hate us, or a Cub's fan would.  That doesn't make sense.  Any AL East fan base fine, can count them as rivals and stuff.  Even a team that wins and meets us in the playoffs and beats us or we beat them fine.  (Look up Colts and Patriots they hate each other like there is no tomorrow) I wonder why they want to see the Yankees falter so bad and fail.  What is it the Yankees owner does that spends money hurts you? Are we Yankee fans supposed to be sorry about that? I see so  many different fan bases on our boards with every loss, or seeing us want us out of the playoffs its FUNNY.  I'd love to actually see the reasons why and love to find out how long you've hated them and so on and so forth.  And obviously I'm sorry if some of our fan's are ignorant but all fan bases have those type of fans.

I'd like to get to know why all the Yankee hating

It baffles me... 8 years 180 million for Tex... but Boston was going to pay 170 million... we are paying 1.25 million per year more for an elite corner in fielder... that is chump change when it comes to how much they are paid... even if they had a salary cap...  heck look at the NFL... they might lose their salary cap because of the rookie contracts... that is out of hand.  A rookie who NEVER played gets more then a veteran that has played for how many years? You have give baseball its due... rookies and players that have played for a few years have to wait for arbitration and won't get long term AROD deals until later on... but in football... you got Ryan Leaf... who was the biggest flake... and bust, Couch first pick in the draft did nothing...  I can go on here and they got more money then a lot of Veterans... people can hate but both systems are messed up.  Fans make the non salary cap system work for the teams that have a fan base... for the teams that don't... well too bad so sad... but with a Salary cap its a set limit... owners pocket money like there is no tomorrow and players who prove nothing can get away like highway robbery...  same thing would happen in  baseball... believe me.

Its actually really simple.  Since the mid-seventies, the Yankees have had an ownership just as obssessed with winning as their own fans.  This ownership will spend as much money as possible to field a competitive franchise every year.  What other team ownership cares this much about winning?  Maybe Mark Cuban...and look how the other NBA owners feel about him.

The truth is, baseball has realized that the "Yankee hater" propaganda helps cover up why other owners do not want to spend as much as Steinbrennar...these owners care less about winning and more about maximizing their profits.  It's true that some owners do want to win, or they have a GM that wants to win (I believe that Theo Epstein cares about the quality of his team and REALLY wants to win a World Series every year) but the fact is, some teams could not give a sweet $#!* about winning as long as they make as much profit as possible...  If you know anything about baseball, you know that George is not the wealthiest owner out there...far from it.  He may have one of the best markets for his business, but he doesn't own Disney, Nintendo, Turner Broadcasting, etc in addition to his team.  No the only guy who is hurt by an inflated payroll is George...

If you want to hate something, hate the players union for not allowing a salary cap.  Hate the owner of Tampa Bay who pockets the tax money Steinbrennar has to pay (he is supposed to put it back into the Devil Rays...instead he puts it into his mortgage).  Hate Bud Selig for having the backbone of a bowl of jello...Hate Larry Lucchino for being more concerned with Boston's image and bottomline than winning...Hate John Henry for saying he frowns on the Red Sox history of racisim, yet still honors the Yawkey family.  Just don't hate the Yankees...because without them, there would be no baseball.

who are u tboneforever1 to say the yankees should be disbanded if u have never even met a Yankee fan. The Yankees use their talent to waste playoff space. What does that even mean? Should the Yankees stop trying to make the playoffs and stop trying to win. People who dont like the Yankees dont like them because they spend too much money. Look when the Yankees had their best years; THe salary cap was way lower for the Yankees of the 90s but the chemistry was much higher.

Oh yeah, please name a baseball team anything close to the Yankees in mississippi. You shold try looking the Yankees up on google to learn a little more about their history. 26 world series, probably more than the years u have been a live

Look at the bashing they get for signing Burnett and CC... overrated signings... bad signings... I think the CC is pretty bad as a Yankee fan seeing he can't pitch in the playoffs... but "if" they pan out then "we bought a world series title" blah blah blah... I mean really take one angle or the other... I've come to terms there are just ignorant biased Yankee fans (all fan bases have these types of fans) but it seems like Yankee fans can be pushed to the point where they have to protect their dignity because there is so much hate for them... when they "do win" the ones who talked a bit start yapping their mouthes and make the others look bad... I can't control a fan base... not even another person so people can hate, people can shove it someones face come the time when the Yankees win/lose... but do you blame them if we do win? With all the negative going our way if you spat it? Or if you were the ones who brought the negative to us... take it... don't make excuses.

If it wasn't for the Yankees, teams like Milwaukee and Arizona would have nowhere to dump their big bad contracts. Even if you hate us, you should know that we do perform a function in the economics of baseball besides driving up the price of talent.

I concur with that... hopefully this is a wakeup call for MLB.  The Yankees have just been relying on offense and no pitching... its not that we have "faltered" the Rays did the right things... pitching defense and scoring ummm more then the other team ha ha... yeah that sounds like the right thing to do.  I gotta say it has been such a fun series to watch.  I can't wait until the World Series... would have loved to see Dodgers Rays... but looks like Phillies Rays.  (Dodgers just because Torre) and all...

All I'm saying is it's been a while since they won it all.  It's funny how every time I hear about the Rays, I always have to hear about the demise of the yankees and what went wrong there. It's like ESPN believes nobody should win a championship, but the Yankess or the Red Sox. I will be so happy when the Rays eliminate them tomorrow. Thanks to  the almighty for them.

GO RAYS

The recent interview Hank Steinbrenner gave makes him look like a 51 year old in diapers - with many half-baked opinions and targeted insults. You know that although he verbally praised Joe Torre with the highest respects, the comments about him and the Dodgers were more the intent.

Yeah I agree he is like a big baby... and the rich kid who bought protection and all. What annoyed me was when they had all the "Yankees" at Yankee stadium and announced all the memories and they left out Torre... what a lack of respect.  I just wonder when the ship will be right again... how I long for the days of Pauly and Donny and Leyritz and all them haha.

Then you certainly aren't the only one.  I am a Cubs fan, so "my team" rarely meets with the Yankees, but I have watched many a Yankee game.  Opposing teams positively fear it when A-Rod comes to the plate - yet the media keeps at him.  I think him leaving for a happier gig would be a good thing, but no one can afford him at that price tag.

One other thing to throw in - The Steinbrenners haven't made themselves very popular, and their taint transfers to the team.  The desire to buy a championship with all the high priced talent, seemingly paying little attention to long term results or chemistry - it looks like the Rich Kid throwing his weight around - and no one likes that guy, unless he is throwing money at you.  The recent interview Hank Steinbrenner gave makes him look like a 51 year old in diapers - with many half-baked opinions and targeted insults. You know that although he verbally praised Joe Torre with the highest respects, the comments about him and the Dodgers were more the intent.

I don't blame an owner for being a sore loser. But when their voice covers the entire franchise, words need to be spoken carefully - and attacking others never works.  George had the sense to address situations internally only at least.

Seriously? "waste playoff space every year and don't win a thing"? Seriously? Do you have Books,TV, Radio or newspapers in your part Mississippi? 26 World Championships and 37 World Series apearances is winning nothing? thats 26 of a possible 104 or so World series or 25% of all the World series championships all time? You have pretty high ideals my friend i will give you that if that's not enough..WoH..
