I'd like to get to know why all the Yankee hating

Now in all the years I've been a Yankee fan I've seen a lot of hatred for the Yankees.  (When I was younger it was weird to see people hate the Yankees as much as people do now) Now it is bitter hatred.  I don't know how old these fans are, how long they paid attention, why say a Brewers fan would hate us, or a Cub's fan would.  That doesn't make sense.  Any AL East fan base fine, can count them as rivals and stuff.  Even a team that wins and meets us in the playoffs and beats us or we beat them fine.  (Look up Colts and Patriots they hate each other like there is no tomorrow) I wonder why they want to see the Yankees falter so bad and fail.  What is it the Yankees owner does that spends money hurts you? Are we Yankee fans supposed to be sorry about that? I see so  many different fan bases on our boards with every loss, or seeing us want us out of the playoffs its FUNNY.  I'd love to actually see the reasons why and love to find out how long you've hated them and so on and so forth.  And obviously I'm sorry if some of our fan's are ignorant but all fan bases have those type of fans.

I'd like to get to know why all the Yankee hating

Jeter can do no wrong, and A-rod can do no right.

That right there is one thing that annoys me about the media...  and I feel a lot  of "fake" Yankee fans just jump right on into it... as well as "fake" baseball fans in general...  I mean Arod's first year in the playoffs was great with the Yankees and he was great with the Mariners...  but we haven't won a World Series since the Mets and "he" is expected to carry us there? What a load of garbage... I always got annoyed with Yankee fans... and the "pressure" didn't help.  Imagine ALL of a stadium or just about all of them booing ONE person...  thats how the NY fan base is.  Eli went through it, and now he is a god send... "for now" see how long that lasts.  Its annoying.  AROD was last year with all the clutch hits... I wanted him out of here so he could just spurn the Yankees and most of the ungrateful fans... we would have missed the playoffs if it wasn't for him last year.  I say that NY Fan base is just a bunch of animals or made out to be at least....

I'd like to get to know why all the Yankee hating

OK - I am sounding off late - but essentially its a combination of all the factors mentioned.  They are the big market historical team - they get all the press - they have movies made about them - and in the media, they MUST have a hero and a villain on the team.  Jeter can do no wrong, and A-rod can do no right.  In the past it was Mantle and Maris in the same related roles.

It gets tiresome hearing about them all the time and see them fabricating things to not like about people.  A-rod is moody, but he isn't a child-eating wife beater that many fans make him out to be.

From a fan perspective, they have been spoiled - being to he playoffs for so long and winning all the time has spoiled the fans and have them holding the team to a high standard.  No other fan base can really relate to that, except maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers or Edmonton Oilers. The holier than Though view point is hard to take at times.... "Well of course you lost, you played the Yankee's".   Lineup and skill means nothing in that opinion.

Personally, I respect the hell out of the Yankees organization and wish them nothing but the best. Look, bottom line, I think the hate is jealousy towards the tradition. The Yankees have 26 World Championships, 15 retired numbers, 39 pennants and 16 division titles. They have had names like Maris, Ruth, Gehrig, Jackson, DiMaggio, Ford, Munson, Rizzuto, Mantle, Jeter, A-Rod grace their rosters. Their players are so well-known they don't even need to put the names on the back of the jerseys. Yankee Stadium was the House That Ruth Built.

Look, as a Cubs fan, maybe I'm a traditionalist. I like baseball the way it was "back when." The Yankees will always personify that purist ideology. Because of this, ridiculous payrolls be damned, I have NOTHING but respect and awe for the Bronx Bombers.

No I agree... I actually get tired of it too... I actually turn the channel (which is hard for me because I usually keep ESPN News a lot) but when its Yankees this Red Sox that Yankees that Red Sox this I really get annoyed... there are other teams other players and so on and so forth... but hey I'm glad I've gotten the feedback.  The most annoying thing about East Coast Bias is when they are that good the people on the West coast won't beleive it because they will think its ESPN hyping them up ha ha...

Although I agree with this, I think this goes further.  I am plain sick of having Yankee baseball shoved down my throat.  I turn on ESPN its all about the Yankees and the Red Sox.  I turn on sports radio and its all about the Yankees and the Red Sox.  In fact, i turned on ESPN this morning and they had a story about how A-Rod's decision to not participate in the Hoe Run Derby may have been correct since it took other players weeks to recover....Are you kidding????  The home run derby was how long ago?  This is the real reason why their is so much Yankee hating.....It's all we here about.....

This is actually an easy question.....East Coast Bias....I cannot begin to expain how hard it is to turn on ESPN na d hear nothing but Yankees and Red Sox all day....day in and day out....I live on the west coast and we are lucky to hear about the Mariners...Granted they really, really suck right now but I remember back in the mid to late 90's where they were one of the best teams in the league and you hardly heard a thing about them.  Even wehn the tied the record for 116 wins, hardly nothing.  To be honest, I love the Yankee history but I cannot stand the bias.  If you are looking for the blame for Yankee hating, blame ESPN because they literally shove it down your throat.

Well say the Pirates won it all and had a dynasty... I wouldn't hate... heck I would love it.  (would show more teams winning it) and the "usual" teams not in it all year... this year has been great (for the most part) the Rays Cubs and Brewers  are in the playoff hunt and look to be in it... who would have thought? (and at the same time no less) Wish my Yankees could have joined in on the fun but hey can't have everything right? I'm a Yankees fan first but a baseball fan second... I think we don't have "baseball" fans second... we just have fans of a team and if theirs isn't in it they choose to hate a team and well the team with the bulls eye is the Yankees (via spending money, winning, stupid rules whatever) and when it was "tradition" that made Yankee fans proud to be Yankee fans its almost tradition that makes Yankee fans almost think twice about saying they are Yankee fans ha ha...

This is the sports is. The teams that win the most get hated the most. Look at the Dallas Cowboys. Or the Lakers for that matter as well. The celtics get another win and they will be back on top of the most hated list in the NBA. 10 years ago, you couldn't find a single San Antonio Spurs' hater. They are all over the place now.

The Yankees have been to the playoffs every year since the strike of '94. They have been to the World Series 5....6 times since then? I done lost count. Won the World Series like 3 or 4 times. People can say what they want and make up all kinds of reasons but the bottom line is....the more you win, the more you will be hated.

Instead of worrying about being hated, embrace it! It's much better to be hated than to be irrelevant. Nobody hates the Pirates, for example.

Yeah understandable (Orioles fan) the hate can come from even if the team is not in it (no bash here) just how rivals are...  but I mean Cub's fans with the hate... Brewers fans... Angels fans... its fans that don't make sense which is really WOW... ha ha.

Easy question to answer. As a Yankee hater, they are my vent. Remember JR on Dallas? Everyone loved to hate him. As an Oriole fan(yea, they suck) If there were no Yankees, I would hate that more. So in conclusion, long live the damnYankees. The source of all the O's problems. LOL
