My second time....hmmm. Not bad at all....

Some random thoughts:

-----------------------------------
----

I know weather and global warming are two different things but today sure makes one wonder. Twenty-eight below zero F at 6 am with a wind chill of 45-50 below zero. Blowing, drifting snow. Misery index is off the charts here in Iowa. My solar cells are pumping out 20% of rated power despite the brilliant sun thanks to the ice crystals and wind. My Geothermal is still pumping at 56 degrees F. My new vertical wind turbine is running at rated power. Still the furnace is burning gas to keep up. My passive solar system is not producing as much heat as it normally does, probably due to the ice crystals and blowing snow.

-----------------------------------
----

I played truth or dare with my neice over Christmas, she's 14. She asked some humdingers. She asked a truth about my second time, ignoring the first altogether. Who remembers their second time? I had to give that some thought. When I did, I realized how much better it was than the first time (satisfaction wise) but funny, I really had to think hard about it! The power of a girls mind and her willingness to project fairytales over reality hid the truth.

-----------------------------------
---

Politically glad to see George Bush leave office. Not because I am against him but because I am tired of seeing him kicked around by our media, our politicians and our citizens. Truly a shame what people believe about him versus what is closer to reality. (see above passage)

-----------------------------------
--

Dogs don't like to go  outside when it is this cold. Could you imagine taking a pee in temps like this? Mine are using the front porch and nothing says welcome like a frozen yellow patch and well you know...

-----------------------------------
--

Peace!

AV, I live next door in Nebraska and I know what you mean about the weather.  In addition I live in an area that is very flat and so when it is cold it is even worse here since there is nothing to slow down the wind.  I also have a dog, a Chihuahua, which you can guess really does not like the cold.  She will at least go to the grass as long as I remove the snow.  She of course is height challenged and does not like snow drifts. She tends to get lost in them. If all else fails outside she will squat and do her business on the sidewalk. If it is really bad she has a favorite Blue plush rug in the bathroom that will substitute.  She will not use puppy pads.  Who knows why- she's a Chihuahua.  That says it all.  I guess I'll be thankful that she doesn't plant it on my patio by the door.

Its always a pleasure to see your posts.  Keep it up.

My second time....hmmm. Not bad at all....

Palin is not a dummy.  Her mistakes came from trying to follow the lead the McCain camp gave her.  When you look at how the election went the McCain camp had some downright poor advisers.  She was also slandered outright.  It was a lie that she had censored books in the library of her hometown but people kept repeating it just the same.  It was ludicrous that the media tried to make the RNC clothing provisions seem like a wild shopping spree of Palin.  I don't think she ran through Saks Fifth Avenue saying, 'I will take 3 of those and 5 of those and an even dozen of those frilly dresses with the satin lace.  The RNC ordered that stuff.  The Obama campain made a big issue out of it and some of the public bought it.

Palin is a washington outsider and scares the Washington Pols and media because she doesn't play their games.  She also doesn't have the obligations to pay back which those who have been around Washington for a long time have.  A good example would be Bidens changed attitude on court nominations.  Judges should be selected on their understanding of the constitution and fair application of the law not because they are in the pocket of planned parenthood.

Has it warmed up any for you AV?  In New Hampshire its already up to 12 this morning.  Not bad.

Back on topic.  The second time was great but the first time was pretty darn good.  I may be getting older now but I am also learning what makes the fires burn.  I think the key here is being considerate of my wifes enjoyment.  The more joy I can give her the more I appreciate our relationship.

cheers

Palin scares people because she can't answer simple questions like "what newspapers do you read"?

Nice job AV

It looks like what most of us have in common is the cold.

What amazes me is how folks can boo Bush and then call for unity.  What goes around inevitably comes around.

Having the world overjoyed at our new president is not necessarily a good sign.  The world is not concerned over American interests.  The world is concerned with - surprise! surprise! - its own interests.

I am going to give president Obama the chance to be the president for all Americans he has stated he wants to be.  What worries me about the liberal agenda is the social engineering which is taking place.

As far as Biden versus Palin it would be much better to have someone in the office who understands the constitution and what it says.  Biden didn't even know what the vice president was responsible for in their debate.  He also freely admitted that what changed about his views when coming to the senate was his view on selection of judges.  He originally believed they should be picked on their proven judicial understanding then he changed.  He now believes they should be picked on their current ideology.

Palin is the freshest breath of air to come out of this last election.  Frankly, I think she is scaring the liberals silly since they keep trying slander her.

Keep on keeping warm.

My second time....hmmm. Not bad at all....

Speaking of hatred toward Bush, it really pi$$ed me off when Dubya was approaching the inauguration site today and you could hear Obama supporters singing the "Na Na, Hey Hey, Goodbye" song.  Lotta class there.  All he did was keep your sorry a$$es safe for the last 7 years.

ImNo1now - I agree with your post 100%! All Clinton had to do was not screw things up. The economy was already improving at the end of the Bush Sr. presidency and Clinton just had to let things proceed on course to have it appear that he knew what he was doing.

AmV - Good to see you back! I know what you are saying about the cold. I live in Iowa as well and I had to shovel a spot on the lawn for my dog to go, because of the snow and the cold.

Smorgie - Your post was spot on! Once again proving that you are as intelligent as you are beautiful.
