Worst call ever! Twins A's game one

A terrible call to end the game. Michael Cuddyer was clearly safe at home on a wild pitch. At times like this, baseball needs to open up review to more then just home run calls. This was the difference in the game, and with the AL central being as close as it is this year, could cost the Twins the post season. The picture above shows about the point where the tag was applied.

Why is MLB willing to use replay on home runs, but not a play like this? A common argument is that it would slow down the game, but would it really slow it down any more then watching a manager come puff his chest out at the ump? Even if the average game is 5 minutes longer, is that such a big deal if they are getting the calls right?

JWalking... the answer is very. It happened last year, it could just as easily happen again.

I bet instant replay will start being used in the next couple years.  People always aruge that umpires and they're calls are part of the game, and that's what makes it good.  That's totaly bs.  How pissed would you be if the Twins end up losing a playoff bid by one game.

Well it seems as though Gardy wants a red flag in the MLB now...what do you think of that idea? You throw the flag, they review it, if your wrong then you dont get the flag back, but if your right then the flag is yours again. Seems like a good idea to me. Too many umps make bad calls and this would eliminate almost all human error, except for strikes vs. balls. Thats a whole other ballgame.

Well said gentlemen... They need to expand the reviews.
You almost feel bad when these "vacation fill-in" Umps get the call up. I seem to remember a game earlier this year where the Twins and Red Sox lost both their starting catchers and managers in the same inning.

Baseball fans need to stop living in the early 20th century. This is the 21st century now, football, basketball, and hockey got with the program, expand instant replay especially for calls like these!

Umpires are human and make mistakes and therefore are going to miss calls every now and then. Some missed calls are understandable because we, as the fans, get a MUCH better view of the play then the umpire does. But a play like that, I honestly don't understand how you could miss a call like that.
