How can I stay mad at you (NBA)?

I am seeking guidance for the following moral dilema.

I am considering bringing the NBA back into my life.

I had dumped it. Moved back to my first love, the college game. The NBA had changed from what it was when I
was growing up and what it had changed to, was something I didn't want to be a part of.
What was it that made me turn my back to the game?
One game:
November 19, 2004, The Palace at Auburn Hills

That was the last straw. How could fans have gotten so out of hand? How could players have let their emotions get the
better of them? I wanted no more to claim that I was an NBA fan.
But, like a victim of spousal abuse, with bruises still fresh all over my body, I am considering giving the NBA a second chance.
Has the league and fans learned a lesson from that incident between players & fans?
I want to like the NBA. There's not much to watch on Friday nights.
