Just when you want to believe in Carmelo Anthony, he does something really stupid.
In the United States-Argentina game, Anthony came close to starting a fight. Nothing justified Anthony's anger. Other Redeemers were walking away and then had to grab Anthony. and calm him down.
The crowd rightfully booed Anthony.
The Americans have conducted themselves with such dignity and then Anthony almost screws the whole thing up.
Anthony has a well documented problem with his stupid temper but Anthony has said the guy who was a key component in starting a brawl in New York is a different man these days. Yet his little flash of temper in a situation that didn't call for anger almost ruined the team's hard earned good guy image.
Calm down Carmelo and take some anger management classes while you are it.

Carmelo Anthony is a punki think he's highly over rated as well as being a punk. dude needs to lay off the pipe and get his mind right. kids look up to professional athletes, even the ignorant ones.

Carmelo Anthony is a punkThe Bong Show, all I am going to say is that Team USA is destroying all their opponents and is destroying some of the best teams in the world. Sure, they struggled more than expected in some games, but so what? A win is a win is a win. I'm sure there are lots of countries out there who would love to have a team half as good as Team USA. Not to mention that Americans are leading every category when it comes to standings (both team and individual standings) so there's no doubt who the best team in the world is. I don't know how in the world you aren't pleased. Oh well.
But back to the topic, I am curious to see what Freeman thinks about all those cheating, drugs, age scandals we've seen in the 2008 Beijing games since he got so mad about such a little thing involving Anthony. Or, even better yet, what do you think about the Cuban Taekwondo athlete pushing THE referee and then KICKING IN THE FACE the judge? Talk about unsportsmanlike and unolympic spirit!

Carmelo Anthony is a punkAnd also i thought that was the worst officiating game i have seen the US play so far. It just felt like the game could never get going because they would call fouls on the stupidest things and then let the hard fouls go. For once the commentators were right the Olympic refs are WAY too inconsistent.

Why don't we be like Australia and get some curly fry to try and agitate all the stars on the teams we play since thats the only way we can beat them. And he didn't do anything they were just trash talkin a little bit which happens in every game. But i have tried for as long as i could to not criticize the writers on this site but this is just plain stupid. I'm glad Freeman that the most important thing you took away from this game was trash-talking. And did you notice about 30 seconds later after it happened Carmelo was just laughing it off? Write a positive article for once..
