Al Davis Did The Right Thing

Good for Al Davis. He took a snot nosed, backstabbing little punk and bent him over his knee.

Lane Kiffin is not some tragic Shakespearean hero knifed by Aaron the Moor. He's someone who took every opportunity he could to leak info to the media that made Davis and the organization look bad.

If you think Davis is incompetent and the Raiders dysfunctional, well, that's your right. However, you know the story when you go to Oakland. The old man is little wacky, he picks the players, he meddles. It's his team. He can do this. You just shut up and coach.

I'm not shedding any tears for Kiffin. He knew what he was getting into. Just do your job, pretty boy. Or leave.

Kiffin is shifty and sneaky and Davis looked like a skilled prosecutor laying out that exact case. It was beautiful to watch.

It was a stone, cold beat down of epic proportions.

Maybe Davis isn't the kooky old goat we all thought he was after all.

He looked lucid as hell to me.

Al Davis Did The Right Thing

Are you aware that this is the 5th head coach the Raiders have had in 6 years? Are you not the least bit aware that teams that change head coaches this frequent are usually teams who are constantly drafting high in the first round?

This isn't just Kiffin, Freeman. This is 5 different head coaches in 6 years. There is a serious problem with your organization if you have 5 different head coaches in 6 years.

Al Davis Did The Right Thing

Lane Kiffin may have deserved what was coming to him, but i still think Al Davis is one of the worst owners in the league, that and the way he looks scares the crap out of me. I mean he looks like he is already decomposing.

Al Davis Did The Right Thing

Wow Mike I can not believe you are on Al Davis's side regarding this matter.  Yes the Oakland Raiders are a dysfunctional group but that starts at the top with Al Davis.  As one comment pointed out already he has employed numerous coaches over the years and none have worked out. So where is the real problem?  A coach can only coach the players that he is given to work with.  One of the reasons Al Davis brought in Lane Kiffin to coach was because he was young and thus could relate more to the team he had because they were all young players as well.  Then Al Davis sticks his nose in and things begin to go down hill as they always do when Al Davis sticks his nose where it doesn't belong.  If Al Davis would concentrate more on owning the team they might stand a chance but when it comes to coaching and meddling the old quack needs to tone it down this is not  the 80's anymore.   Time to change with the times Old Al.  Furthermore Mike states that Al Davis got rid of a back stabbing sneaky Kiffin, well isn't that exactly what Al Davis is?  Just one hundred years Lane Kiffin's senior.

As for you Mike, put in a word with your editor for me because even I have time to submit a 20 word article that supports nothing and sides with ego maniacs like Al Davis.  Please for the sake of garnering journalism respect read what you write before you submit it!  Or you can always go work for Al Davis that way he will be over your shoulder making sure you are doing your job correctly which from the looks of your little article you do need that kind of support system.

Mike he did use the word your in the correct context.  You just proved everyone here right by trying to correct him.  How are you still working for CBS?  You don't even know the proper use of the word "your"

Al Davis Did The Right Thing

I will put in a good word with my editor when you correctly spell "you're."
I hate to break it to you Mike, but he did spell it right, in the context he was using it.  He said 'your editor."  He was not saying "you're" as in "you are."

Al Davis Did The Right Thing

Really?? Is this the same owner that has had 5 coaches in the last 6 years?  8 coaches in the last 13 years?  So, what was wrong with all those other guys, Mike?  At some point, don't you have to begin to realize that maybe it's not everybody else, maybe I should look in the mirror?

Ever occur to you that Davis is lying in order to get out of paying Kiffin?  I think there's precedent for that (Shanahan).

Very gullible of you.
