That's how good Scott Pioli really is.

Bill Belichick is the man who makes the Patriots tick but don't underestimate how good Pioli himself was for New England.

He'll stock the Kansas City roster with great players and rebuild the entire fabric of the Kansas City organization for the better. And he'll do it quickly.

Pioli is one of the most valuable pieces of intellectual property in all of football.

OK, drooling time over.

See you in the Super Bowl in 2013, Chiefs fans.

Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

I really like Thigpen, and feel he will be a top 10 qb in fantasy land.

I think Thigpen is a good choice to keep at QB for now. I also picked him up in our fantasy league around week 9 or 10. He posted excellent numbers (top 10 week after week) and I actually won my league's superbowl with him at the helm. I think he scored 27 points the last week, which was about a fifth of my teams total points out of 10 total roster spots.

Some people will say "Oh well, it's great if he performs well in fantasy leagues but the team is losing in real life.", but I think that fantasy performance is a good indicator of the worth of a player to his team. No one can argue against the fact that Thigpen performed well as the Chiefs QB. I think the rest of the team and the coaching is more to blame for the Chiefs poor performance in 2008. I say give Thigpen a chance to see what he can do.

On the subject of winning the superbowl in 5 years, I think the Chiefs will be contenders in about 3 years. An earlier post stated that the other teams in the AFC West are declining and I would have to agree. That will give them an easier route to the playoffs. The fact that they had an excellent draft last April and the players they drafted actually got to play the entire season, with no significant injuries to any of them, leads me to believe that those guys are going to have a very steep learning curve and will be a lot better next season. This year's draft will be all important to adding to the Chiefs young talent pool. I personally think they need to draft another good OL, to compliment Brandon Albert down the road, with their overall third pick. The addition of Pioli as GM will help immensely. Pioli will have what amounts to a clean slate to build the team that he wants. The Chiefs have the youngest roster of any team in the NFL. They have 30 million in cap room to bring in some much needed veteran help (maybe Julius Peppers??). LJ wants out of KC, so I say let him go, he's damaged goods at this point and is no longer the explosive RB he was a couple of years ago. The Chiefs just need to make sure that they get a decent trade for him,,, maybe someone's first round pick this year and more.

I hate to agree with Freeman about anything, but I think he may have hit on something here that all Chiefs fans are starting to realize. The pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall into place. The Chiefs are now poised to become a beast in the NFL and in five years I think they will have a good shot at winning the Superbowl.

out of all the complaint i have ever heard about KC QB's does anyone know who had hte most 4000 yards passing seasons as of active players 2 years ago. I do, it was trent green! But for some reason 4000 yards and getting us in the playoffs isnt good enough!

Gadawg i am biased but if u could support your arguement that would be great because as far as i am concerned tony G just had a 1000+ yards season and it seems he could have at least 3 more seasons in thise same shape. ALl i am saying is the cheifs d is solid if they pick up a good pass rusher they had the 4th ranked defense 2 years a go for a reason! The only way this team doesnt win moree than 7 games next year is if we  have herm as coach or have a total bust in the draft!

If you changed the word "Will" to "Might" then your title would seem like less of a ridiculous statement than it does, or you could have just called it "I have a man crush on Scott Pioli".

Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

I se you are a K.C. fan, and looks like you think you need help everywhere. Since you are a K.C. fan, I would value your opinion on QB T. Thig. I picked him up in week 4, I think it was, I am in a keeper league. I also have C. Palmer and M. Hasselback. I will have to cut at least one of them. Right now I plan on keeping Thigpen and Palmer. From a fantasy viewpoint, Thigpen produced  good numbers. He baisicly started 11 games I believe, 18 td's, 11 int's. Also over 300 yards rushing. And, looking at all you said, he was playing for an awful team. By the way, I also have T. Gonzalez on my team. I hope he plays for a few more years, and at current levels. Just my opinion, bu I hope K.C. gets an offensive tackle with #3 pick, and stays away from Stafford or other qb.  I really like Thigpen, and feel he will be a top 10 qb in fantasy land. I may be dreaming, but have high hopes for him. Also, it makes me like him even more, with him being born and raised in South Carolina. He came from a small town, and went on to play ball at a small college. I, too, am from a small town in South Carolina, and I now own a fantasy football team. Not bad for a small town guy, huh? I feel like I have a very good team going into 2009, and Ibelieve Thigpen will lead me to a championship.  Please share your thoughts with me on the future of K.C., and it's q.b. Tyler Thigpen.  Thank you

Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

The Kansas City Chiefs will NOT win the Super Bowl in five years but they will be a legit contender. If they can keep some of there young players like Bowe, Flowers, Pollard, Albert and Dorsey when there contracts expire and players like Jamaal Charles and Brad Cottam turn out to be decent pros they have a chance. The one thing they still need and havn't had in over a decade in a legit QB. They have been known for signing players past there prime and that is not what this franchise needs. They need to go out and get a good young FA QB or take a stab in the draft and hope whoever they get doesn't turn out to be like Brodie Croyle who can't stay on the field for more than five minutes at a time. The Chiefs have a lot of good young talent but the thing that will get this team over the hump in a few years is a good QB. Some of you might be thinking... what about Tyler? Tyler Thigpen is NOT the future QB of this orginization. He will be a lifetime backup and rightfully so.  When he can complete over 63% of his passes and have a 2 to 1 TD to INT ratio, then you might have me convinced.
