Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

That's how good Scott Pioli really is.

Bill Belichick is the man who makes the Patriots tick but don't underestimate how good Pioli himself was for New England.

He'll stock the Kansas City roster with great players and rebuild the entire fabric of the Kansas City organization for the better. And he'll do it quickly.

Pioli is one of the most valuable pieces of intellectual property in all of football.

OK, drooling time over.

See you in the Super Bowl in 2013, Chiefs fans.

Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

First of all I have been a Chiefs fan all of my life, through thick and thin.  No matter how bad they do I will alway be a Chiefs fan.  I read on here about we need a better defense, it does need some upgrades but for the most part they just need to play all four quarters.  They always fold the second half of almost every game.  They are in a rebuild mode so you have got to start somewhere which means you are going to have some young players.  I don't blame all of the problems on Herm because they aren't.  It is a team sport, you win and lose as a team.  They can make some changes on both sides of the ball, get some veteran players that have some years left in them and lead the team.  They seem to need some sort of guidance because they are so young.  I don't know if they will make a super bowl run that quick but they will definitely be above .500 and find theirselves in the playoffs again.  Pioli knows his stuff and is probally the best move Kansas City has made in a long time.

I disagree with you. Herm Edwards is a good coach. Mind you, I didn't say he was a great coach. As a coach you can only play with the cards your dealt. The old GM was not good at bringing in talent. The problem started with the QB situation. At first glance, none of those guys are top tier quaterbacks. I would not even give them 2nd or 3rd level status. Thigpen did develop nicely throughout the year, but he still lacks leadership. The KC running game was awful at best. You could have put all of the great coaches on that staff and they would still be a marginal team. The great coaches have at least SOME talent to work with. Herm had Tony Gonzalez and that was about it. LJ has worn out his welcome and wants to move on. Getting a GM that has experience in getting top level talent will push them into the playoffs next year and further going foward.

Now, on to Romeo Crennel. This guy was hyped coming out of NE. I will admit that. So was Mangini and Charlie Weis. However, most assistant coaches are slated as the 'Next Big Thing' and that is why they are given the shot. Look at Jason Garrett for example. Now, Romeo has done an incredible job getting that franchise turned around. He also fell victim to injuries and other issues and was without Anderson and Winslow for much of the year. Put double coverage on Edwards and stack 8 in the box against Lewis and it has been one. He knew toward the end of the year that he (Crennel) was going to be held accountable for their lack of performance, but, he was playing with the hand he was dealt.

Another example is Shanahan. He was held accountable but at no time can a coach plan on 6 straight RB's going to IR. That never happens..right? It did happen and now he is out of a job after a long and successful tenure as head coach. So what was the Broncos next move? Bring in the 'Next Big Thing', which is the guy who groomed Tom Brady and hope to hell that he can develop Cutler the same way. Probably won't happen but good luck to him.

As far as the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl goes, lets look a little deeper. You have the Colts on the decline and without their steadfast head coach. You have the Patriots with a banged up Tom Brady and guys getting older with every snap. You have the Chargers who have a declining LT and aging Gates with a banged up defense. Point is, all of the powerhouse teams of old are getting older and will soon hit a 'rebuilding' stage. Pittsburgh and Baltimore are poised for greatness. Tennessee could be there with a young (no pun intended) stud QB. Dolphins-NO, Bills=NO, Jets-NO, Jags-NO, Broncos-Maybe??, Oakland-NOT A CHANCE. I could see it happening just as it could with Green Bay, Atlanta, or Houston. Young teams that are gaining experience and starting to gel. I think we all learned this year, with Baltimore (they can't win with a rookie QB), Arizona (Warner can't hold up for a full 16 game season), and Philly (McNabb is being traded and Reid is getting canned) that anything can happen. I think it will be a supreme toss up for the next few years and you will be surprised by who makes the playoffs and who wins it all.

I dont know.  Its getting tougher and tougher to find a coach that is a skilled cheater.  Unless Bilicheat leaves NE I dont like his chances.

Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

Maybe 10 years, but when I look at the Chiefs and look 5 years down the road I see no LJ and I am not sold on Thigpen either.  It is so hard to find a franchise quarterback now a days.   Freeman though never includes any stats to back up his statements.  The guy writes at a 5th grade level yet has a job as a journalist.   What he wrote makes as much sense as me saying Jets will win in 5 years, because Brett will not be their quarterback.

I love how the media licks all over the balls of anything New England. Charlie Weis was gonna be great and he sucks, Romeo Crennel was gonna be great and he sucks, Eric Mangini was gonna be great and he sucks. I'll reserve judgement on Pioli till he does something worth talking about in Kansas City.

Chiefs Will Win Super Bowl Within Five Years

I believe Carl Peterson had a five-year Super Bowl plan when he came to the Chiefs 20 years ago. Let's not annoint Scott Pioli the savior just yet.
