Anquan Boldin is a Jackass

Posted on: January 18, 2009 9:04 pm

He tried to ruin the Super Bowl celebration with his childishness.

In the game, Boldin got into a heated argument with offensive coordinator Todd Haley. After the game, instead of celebrating with his team, Boldin abruptly left the field, then abruptly left the locker room.

It was awful behavior.

Quarterback Kurt Warner also got into an argument with Haley during the game but you didn't see Warner acting like a petulant child afterwards. He celebrated with his teammates and enjoyed the moment.

I have to say in nearly 20 years of doing this, I've never seen a player more concerned about his arguing with a coach over making a Super Bowl.

What Boldin did almost never happens.

Congratulations on making history, Anquan.

Anquan Boldin is a Jackass

This is a perfect example of the "Me Generation Athlete"

If I were , a premeier player I would certainly want to be on the field at crunch time but if I was not on the field and we won then that is what it is all about. The athletes today want to be pampered and catered to at all times.

There is no wonder that the character guys and teams lead by true warriors always win out in the end. Whether its Tom Brady, Elway, Aikman, Emmitt, Rice, Faulk or Bettis. These are guys that never cried or tried to divert tyhe spotlight on themselves.

Its no wonder players like TO, Boldin, Moss, and OCho Cinco never win

Anquan Boldin is a Jackass

Tread lightly with uncle tom accusations.  Bolden looked like a me-first whiner - this artlce just called out what was obvious.  Warner has the position (QB) and resume to get into a heated discussion and I believe he gave several post-game press conferences.  Bolden's biggest mistake was pouting and storming off after the game where they just made the SB.  My guess is Waner would have been tattooed if he did the same thing.  Race only defines us if we let it people.

WOW! how are you defending a guy who walked away and wouldnt celebrate with his own teammates? Were you all defending Moss back in Oakland when he did the same thing? The issue is not that he was arguing with a coach (Warner did it too) it is the fact that he sulked like a baby because he was taken out (remember he is dealing with a hamstring injury) and that when they won, we walked away....Before the season started Bolden was whinning about a new deal and even threatened the team he would not play and wanted to be traded if he didnt get it! He is a jealous player over teammate Larry Fitzgerald's deal....And to the people saying "he wouldnt have said this if it was a white player" SHUT UP! any player that walks out on his team deserves to be talked about like this...its a selfish act plain and simple

Mike Freeman is a Jackass

You know nothing about what went on down on the field, yet you jump to conclusions and figure Boldin is wrong. How about you find out what went on down on the field and report on that. Opinions are like ---holes Freeman, everybody has one... You should get the facts before you make judgement on someone. You are infact a jackass. I'm still trying to figure out how you got this job...?????

Anquan Boldin is a Jackass

And I suppose you have never made an ass out of yourself.  Anyway, a jackass for being competitive, give me a break.  He wanted to contribute and watched his team give up 19 points in the second half.  And you can't compare this to Kurt Warner since he wasn't taken out of the game, I'm sure that if he had, he would have probably thrown a fit too, seeing that the superbowl was on the line.

Clearly, this was meant to be an incendiary comment, just look at the number of responses...

In my opinion, Boldin is the best receiver in the league. He's come back from 2 injuries this year to help the team when he could have just run to the IR. Even missing those games, he finished #1 in receptions, and #4 in TDs and yards, without a full season. Boldin felt he wasn't being paid like a top 5 WR in the preseason, which he wasn't, and asked for a raise or a trade. When that didn't happen, he shut his mouth and did his job. That exemplifies professionalism to me. He does not deserve the comparisons he is getting to the other loudmouths of the NFL.

What cracks me up, is Adrian Wilson has gotten a ton of credit/press for not signing elsewhere when his contract came up. Boldin did the same and provided the Cards a solid, professional, classy weapon to build around. But, instead, we're talking about how Boldin is a primadonna and Warner is the vocal leader of the team. Talk about your double standards. A QB being vocal about helping his team is a leader while a receiver is a distraction.

Frankly, if the Cards want to label him a troublemaker and release/trade him, great. I'm a 49ers fan and would love nothing more than to have him on my team causing trouble for other defenses instead of torching us. This is an #81 to be proud of.

Boldin has played with pain more often than not.....these meltdowns are not all that uncommon!

let it go...lets not look for things to write/talk about with 2 weeks to kill between games!

I agree with you about not knowing anything toprotect your analysis. How can anyone just make an assumption like that without any stats or even a personal reason. That is a pour way to write an article.
