Nate Robinson deserved to win Saturday's dunk contest but Rudy Fernandez got royally ripped off.

A victory for Robinson is a victory for the Little People across the world. Good for him. All 2 feet 11 of him.

He was clearly the crowd favorite and saved the dunk contest. It went from mediocre to great because of Robinson.

Dwight Howard shouldn't have been in the final round. No way. He didn't deserve it. Fernandez did.

Fernandez's first two dunks were far more challenging and creative and the judges -- because of bias toward Howard -- gave Fernandez low ball scores of 42 in his first two rounds when Robinson deserved far higher.

Howard got two perfect scores but didn't deserve them.

That was awful. Howard was a legacy pick. The judges wanted him in the final round because he's popular.

That was a G-E-I-C-O conspiracy.

But the dunk contest overall was pretty good and borderline great. Next year it might even be better with the news that LeBron James is planning to compete it. If he does, that will be a ratings bonanza.

In the meantime, with Robinson the new champion, somewhere Gary Coleman is partying like crazy.

yeah he should have, not because of the second one, but that first one was ridicuolous. I was watching it at a bar with no sound and i texted a friend "did you see that cuz it was amazing." second best dunk of the night to robinsons (even though he barely made it over his head he is still that small while dwight is that big)

Anybody else dissapointed because Rudy didn't try any soccer (well, football) moves? Like kick-alley-oop to himself or something in this vein...

I disagree slightly yes Nate stepped up in the final round but really he didn't deserve to be there, his first dunk wasn't as good as JR's or fernandez's he does the same as JR but jams on the first instead of second bounce, how's that better? 4 or 5 points better on the scores. Nate only gets points cause he's short they're making his height an advantage to him, he definitly get's extra points because of it....

The rules are that a player gets 2 minutes, then 2 dunks. He got ROBBED!!!

I couldn't care less about some lame arbitrary rules. I, along with most fans, watch the dunk contest to be entertained. There's absolutely nothing entertaining about a guy missing 6(? least) tries of the same dunk, then finally getting it on his first "extra" try.

If you can't make it on your first or second attempt, you should not be attempting it. Period. He was the most boring competitor out there.

I agree completely I was not impressed with Nate's first round dunks.  I know Rudy failed to get his first dunk off in the allotted time, which may justify not getting 10s but I personally thought that was the best dunk of the 1st round.  I think Howard made the mistake in the final round trying the dunk from the free throw line.  If he comes up with something creative there I give him the title.  His first dunk in the final round was pretty sweet!

I totally agree. It doesn't matter what Howard does, because he'll get a 50 every time. It's garbage, and the only reason is all the judges have a man crush on him. Nobody except those judges and commentators thought it was cool when Dwight wore the cape again. It wasnt cool even the first time he did it.

Now im not trying to bash Dwight, because he was a good sport through out this whole thing and took Nate being "kryptonite" and allowing nate to try to dunk over him, in stride.

Congrats to Nate, and kudos to Dwight for not being stupid like the commentators/judges.
