Jim Calhoun Update

Jim Calhoun will only miss one game because of a mysterious illness, according to Kyle Muncy, the school's sports information director.

Muncy blasted my reporting that it was possible -- possible -- Calhoun could miss more games.

And it's indeed possible Calhoun will only miss one game. I said that before.

However, the problem is the school won't say what's wrong, and they won't say when Calhoun is coming back.

It's all extremely vague.

We'll get more clarification in the post-game but I'll stress what I wrote before: there were people close to the situation who were very concerned that Calhoun might miss more time.

No one said it was going to happen. Only the possibility was stressed.

Muncy reinterated that Calhoun has missed games before, 21 total, if you count the five he missed because of prostate cancer.

UConn is trying to make it sound like Calhoun missing NCAA Tournament games is a regular thing, happens all the time.

He'll be back, maybe for the next game, but this entire thing is extremely strange.

Jim Calhoun Update

Just wanted to call you all for the ingnorant fan you are NSideris...glad the bold got your attention...

I know your pupose is to come here and try and get under the skin of Uconn fans...but your credentials are weak..

First off, your school has no history in major sports except a lucky bomb pass by Flultie and Jared Dudley being the biggest tool to ever play college hoops... ahaha...

oh...and how bout BC being a part of the lawsuit until they got invited as well???..then everything was all good....so freakin weak...pathetic actually.....but that's the BC way....you'll never be another Notre Dame so stop trying to pretend like you have some sort of football tradition....try winning something first.....in hoops or football....

GO USC BABY!!! send the eagles flying home with a bum wing!!! ahahahah

Better football bowls since joining the ACC...are you kidding me? MAYBE if you actually won a conference championship game . BC is a GREAT academic school. Major athletics however, they're just the Budweiser, not the champagne, in ANY major sport......don't even try to sell hockey as major. Boston as a city/area is a professional sports city. As a whole, not many care for collge sports in that area...therefore BC doesn't travel well to Bowl sites..that's a big reason bowls don't invite them to anything other than a Carquest or Music City or the infamous Humanitarian Bowl (which is most famous for the blue field)!

The joke is that BC could never beat U Conn in the past 20 years, so you just blast away NOW?with their HC in the hospital? Class Act. I'm sure BC would be proud to have you and all the other haters/namecallers reprsenting
them. BC hoops takes UConns scraps and leftovers....Laughing

I CAN TYPE IN BIG FONT TO. BUT IS DOESN'T MAKE ME ANY SMARTER

You are obviously a SueConn fan, leading the way behind a lawsuit to try to keep BC in the Big Least. BC was sick and tired of the crappy confernece trying to screw us over and over again. Getting no money from bowl games and not helping our school from getting better.

The ACC has actually worked with BC to get better and is a much better conference so BC made the right business decision to move there.

And you don't know half the story behind our football coach. It was a move that needed to be made and was made just because he interviewed, it was made because he lied about many things behind the scenes. But you wouldn't know that because thats the only part of the story that gets played.

Of course the primary concern of any decent person should be Coach Calhoun's health and comfort.  And I don't see anything in Freeman's article that contradicts that.  The University's response is clearly defensive and inexplicable, but there's no need to extrapolate that into an attack on the character of the coach, the program, or the university.

Cleanest program in the country? Yeah...if you don't own a laptop...or if Calhoun capriciously decides to pull your scholarship...sheesh...

Calhoun is pretending to be sick for Vegas. He's not to be trusted. Bet the under against Chatanooga.
