Matt Millen? Are you serious?

Posted on: December 22, 2009 12:27 am

The Redskins deserve a media beatdown after their farce of a game against the Giants and they'll get it. Another brilliant team set up by Dannyboy.

But what I couldn't stand, couldn't take for a second, was hearing Matt Millen, of all people, mocking Jim Zorn and the Redskins.

Matt Millen? C'mon, Matt, really? You? You're mocking Zorn, chucking out loud over his press conference, ripping him, laughing out loud?

You? You?

The guy who sent the Detroit Lions into the tar pit for years to come with some of the worst personnel moves in the history of the sport?

You?

Millen mocking someone's coaching acumen is like Keanu Reeves mocking someone's acting skills.

Just sayin'.

That is all.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

I didn't watch Millen talk but if he riped into Zorn and the Skins like you said that is crazy. Millen has no business doing anything with the nfl ever again he made the lions a laughing stock.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

in my book for anyone and i mean ANYONE to hire Millen as an analyst is stupid, there is no way he should judge any team and why, well, he sent the lions to a winless season!! Millen trying to help Zorn would make everything worse. if i were any coach, owner, gm of a team and i heard millen criticizing me, i would hit the mute button.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

Apparently none of you people have "mute" button on your TV. There are only a few announcers I actually listen to, otherwise I watch the game with the mute button on. I tried to listen to Millen on the first NFL Network broadcast, but halfway through the first quarter I wnt to silence. I've watched every game that way since then. I only wish my set had a mute back in the days of Howard Cosell!

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

This. I fell off my chair laughing last week as he explained why a TD would be overturned on review because of a rule change made a couple of years ago WHEN MATT MILLEN WAS ON THE RULES COMMITTEE.
We come back from the break to hear Matt explain that yes, it is a TD, because he got the rule wrong. A RULE THAT HE HELPED TO WRITE.
Sheesh.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

The only person who knows less than Matt 'Mad' Millen about pro football (and its fans) is the idiot who hired him at espn. Correct that, you have to include the Fords in that dubious group, too.  Millen is a buffoon of major proportions.  He dashed the hopes of every Detroit Lions fans year after year after year, not just through his stupidity, but his egotistical refusal to admit his inability to manage a team.  And because he didn't step down as president, the Lions fans will pay the price for a few more years, at least.  He won't back down as an announcer either because he thinks WAY too highly of himself.  I turn the volume down on any games I watch that he's announcing, and reading about comments like he made last night makes me glad I do.  Jim Zorn is obviously not getting the most from his team, has made numerous poor decisions and deserves most of the commentary against him.  But Millen mocking Zorn is the ultimate in hipocracy.  So as the Lions' poor fans said to the Fords for years and years...'Fire Millen.....PLEASE!'

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

Seriously, why is he even on TV? The point of commentators is to EDUCATE the normal fanbase, but we all know he knows nothing about football. He must have gotten the job because of his good looks.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

I agree 100%. However, I would love to see him get another management job so that I didn't have to hear his cheap John Madden knock off every time I watch a game on NFL Network.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

I can't believe that ESPN has Millen do anything. The only thing that he is qualified to do as far as management, would be to draft a WR.  Now, I'm not saying that he recognizes talented WR's, he just knows how to draft them, year after year after year.

Matt Millen? Are you serious?

i totally agree. not only was i thankful that matt millen didnt get a lot of airtime, im also thankful the game wasnt on the nfl network so that we were all spared his broadcasting skills. i mean, besides ripping jim zorn, after steve young gave a very comical recreation of the field goal trick play attempt and reattempt, millen tried to basically say the exact same thing again right after. like, we just heard it? do we need to hear it again? no. go home matt
