Shane Mosley got two lucky punches in the second round of his fight on Saturday night against Floyd Mayweather. Then, as he often does, Mayweather decided that was enough.

After that, Mayweather took Mosley to school. It was one of those advanced classes, too. It was the kind of schooling that demonstrates why Mayweather is the best, most techincal and intelligent fighter in any of the fighting sports today.

Nothing Mayweather does in the ring is sexy. There are few spectacular knockouts but his boxing skills are superior to anyone else's on the planet. That was apparent against Mosley.

After those two hard rights landed by Mosley the smarter Mayweather dominated with a series of piercing rights, surgical hooks and expertly utilized a dazzling speed advantage. Mayweather, incredibly, was in the best shape I've ever seen him and that's saying something.

Mayweather reached into Mosley's chest and slowly removed his heart round by round.

This fight wasn't close. It wasn't. It was never going to be and anyone who thought Mosley would win doesn't know boxing.

I scored the fight 118-110. That's being generous. Mayweather won 10 rounds in a row.

It's time for the media and boxing fans to stop de-valuing Mayweather's historical importance and ranking because they don't like him personally and realize this is one of the greatest fighters in a generation.

Now comes the important stuff after this sham of a fight has concluded. What happens next? The answer will impact the future of boxing.

And if that answer isn't Mayweather fighting Manny Pacquiao then boxing will continue to be a joke.

If that fight does happen Mayweather will destroy Pacquiao, too, because there's no one out there on Mayweather's level right now. No one.

This fight should've never happened but it did and Mayweather dominated.

Now, what's next, boxing? Do the right thing. Let's get Mayweather and Pacquiao in the ring.

Do what the fans want.

For once.

Mike Brown losing to Gmburyan I might agree but to say that Frankie Edgar is a noby is just silly. Edgar had wins over Sean Sherk, Hermes Franca, Spencer Fisher and Tyson Griffin heading into this fight. He was hardly a nobody.

Let's face it, there is no real competition in boxing. Fighters duck the best opponents to keep their reputation intact. The Mosley-Mayweather fight should have happened years ago just like Mayweather-Pacquiao should have happened this year. At least with MMA, you actually see real competition instead of glorified stage shows.

MMA sucks!

The best fighters lose to complete stiffs.  Case in point the 2 biggest favorites of the last month, BJ Penn and Mike Brown, lost to absolute nobodies as 1-8 faves.  Say what you want about Floyd, but he would NEVER lose to an outclassed foe.

"Pac-man" will not win in a match with "Money"...please realize that this is the best fighter of the last 15-20 yrs and has skills that Pac-man cannot handle. Believe me I think he can be a huge DI#!, but no one can deny his ability. Everyone praised Mosley prior to the fight and now says he's SH%$. Come on and be real... No one will beat "Money" until he is too old or moves up too far in weight.

This dude doesn't even has close fights. To think pacman can beat him is absurd. If im  not mistaken Marquez is like 8 years older than pacman but thats ok right. Mosley is 5 years older than mayweather and he's too old. Give me a break

Come on... I know what the promoters wanted people to believe.... But seriously, if Mayweather didn't duck Mosley when he was in his prime 6-7 yrs ago then, I would agree. But Mosley's old ass is not even close to the fighter he used to be. And if you think that Mosley is as fast, as strong, and as talented as Paqcuiao is.... Then you need to get your eyes checked.
