Vikings: One team, two jerks

Posted on: October 6, 2010 8:33 am
Brett Favre acts like a petulant child and is rewarded with an exit out of Green Bay and eventually lands with a near Super Bowl team in Minnesota.

Randy Moss acts like a petulant child -- many times -- and ends up with Favre in Minnesota.

The NFL is fantastic.

Two jerks, one city, not enough ego to go around.

Only in sports are jerks repeatedly rewarded despite their childish behavior. Moss and Favre are no different.

The irony here is unavoidable. Moss was cast out of Minnesota because he drove his car into a meter maid and quit the team. Now he's back years later after having more problems in New England.

Bill Belichick wouldn't trade Moss now unless Belichick believed he couldn't get the most out of Moss for the remainder of the season. This trade isn't Belichick being efficient. This is Belichick worried Moss would destroy his locker room. After all, Moss has destroyed locker rooms before.

Two jerks, one team.

Good luck, Vikings.

You're going to need it.

Ok this is just really uncalled for, I hate the Pats and don't give a crap about the Vikes but this article is just trash.
Moss has done childish things in the past but he's been good since joining the Pats, signs of maturity.
Favre loves the game that's why he's still playing while being 40+ in age, but he is only as good as his body would hold up after about 2 decades.
Bilichick trading Moss just shows that he has no intention to re-sign Moss, it's a move to get what you can out of a guy before losing him for nothing to FA and NOT because Moss is a known locker room destroyer in New England.
Favre + Moss + Peterson = a team to watch out for as Favre still got it as long as his body holds up, Moss still have a few good seasons left in him.
Write some facts in your aritcles Freeman, not just pointless rubbish like this.

When/if Moss learns to write and speak the ENGLISH language, instead of thinking only of "hiself", he'll discover two and win.
Does "hiself" have one s or two? You'll have to forgive me, I don't speak  moron/thug/street.

Your right Freeman, bash an icon in pro football, not to mention, a hall of famer.  And why? Because he can't retire yet because of his desire to play the game?  Green Bay pushed him out, although he has his share of the blame too.  again, a legend and a warrior who will be a first ballot hall of famer.  Granted, holmgren was the only one who could discipline him, but that's what you've got to love about him, no fear, EVER!!!  How anyone can bash him is just plain stupid.  How you can link him and compare him to someone who runs over people with his car intentionally is just stupid.  Two completely different levels of class, way different.  Anything to make a buck, right Freeman?

Nice! How's that grade 5 education workin' out for ya'?
I'm many superbowls has "belli-cheat" been to?
It's about winning and championships dumbass!
Moss wouldn't know the meaning of win if you looked it up for him in your grade 5 dictionary. Are there lots of pretty pictures in it?
Yes...a cow does say moo!

Bottom Line...without Crennel and Weis...he (Belichick) has won nothing.   Period.  Those 2 both sucked as Head Coaches, but both are phenomenal when they can concentrate on what they know best.  Hence the reason KC has been solid this year.  Brady is a great QB, however, lets not forget that he was a Don't Lose the Game QB for the first 2 Super Bowls...That defense won the first 2 titles without a doubt.  And had they not had Bledsoe to come in after Brady got hurt against Pittsburgh, they don't even get to the first one(something no one ever wants to admit).  Brady's best offensive numbers have come with Moss on the field and Moss has been part of the 2 most prolific offenses in NFL history.  Moss may not always play his hardest (admittedly), however, the threat of him on the field pulls defenders away and legitimizes all of the other receivers on the field.  I'm sure the Pats will still be solid, but I don't see how in the world this helps them, and I see this trade making AP that much better.  You can't stop both in Minnesota, and I'm a Bear fan.  Moss will help AP wreak even more havoc on the NFC North, and when AP isn't, they will just hit Moss on the deep ball.  NE is a loser in this deal, and I would have to assume that Brady is pissed, even if he wont publicly say so.  Just because people don't like Moss as a person (and that is certainly understandable), doesn't make him less of a threat on the field.  Whether or not a guy is likeable doesn't make him a better or worse athlete.  I think Ray Lewis is a freaking scumbag, but I'd take him on the Bears any day of the week.   I don't see why writers let their personal opinions get in the way of what is actually happening on the field because it's not like they give a "nice" guy a break and write lovey dovey articles when a "nice" guy is playing like crap.  They bash just to bash and it gets pretty old.

Belicheat is the jerk. He continues to think his s--t don't stink. Good luck to Moss and Favre. And I hope NE gets what they deserve. No credit for past success and no playoffs this year.

Reading this article, who comes off as the jerk..

The idea of a trade is that both teams thought they were getting something out of it.  That's all that matters, no need to turn it into a philosophical concern of morality.  But since you did...

"Only in sports are jerks repeatedly rewarded despite their childish behavior."

Really?  That's a statement of naivete that only someone who writes about other people's accomplishments for a living could make.  That's how it is in real life every day, and name-calling only makes you seem like the one who's a prick.

I think it is funny that no posted is refuted the fact that both Favre and Moss are whiny, selfish, prima donnas, only that it isn't a reporter's job to comment on it.  Yep, the apologists are out in full force today.  Winning over character will always thrive, and not just in sports.  Look at David Vitter, Ensign, and others.  When we don't care as a society why should the assorted scumbags care either?
