Vikings: One team, two jerks

Posted on: October 6, 2010 8:33 am

Brett Favre acts like a petulant child and is rewarded with an exit out of Green Bay and eventually lands with a near Super Bowl team in Minnesota.

Randy Moss acts like a petulant child -- many times -- and ends up with Favre in Minnesota.

The NFL is fantastic.

Two jerks, one city, not enough ego to go around.

Only in sports are jerks repeatedly rewarded despite their childish behavior. Moss and Favre are no different.

The irony here is unavoidable. Moss was cast out of Minnesota because he drove his car into a meter maid and quit the team. Now he's back years later after having more problems in New England.

Bill Belichick wouldn't trade Moss now unless Belichick believed he couldn't get the most out of Moss for the remainder of the season. This trade isn't Belichick being efficient. This is Belichick worried Moss would destroy his locker room. After all, Moss has destroyed locker rooms before.

Two jerks, one team.

Good luck, Vikings.

You're going to need it.

Vikings: One team, two jerks

It takes a REAL sack to say Randy Moss is top 3 WR of all time and Brett Favre is top 3 QB of all time.

How is Freeman a jerk for speaking the truth, please tell me. Both Frave and Moss are little children who wnat it their way or they are "going to hold their breath" till they get their way. You are as much of a misguided jerk for rooting for these self centered @ss wipes

Vikings: One team, two jerks

Come on Mike Freeman...how could you write an article like this?  Now we have one of the best 3 QB's of all time now hooking up with one of the best 3 WR's of all time and all you can do is write about them being jerks?....how is that relevant to their team and what we might expect out of this more than explosive duo?  Let's talk about the dynamics of this trade and how it will help(or hurt) their team, not post a ridiculous article calling them "petulant children".

CBSSports writers

Have you noticed that CBSSports writers never break any stories? Thier main job seems to be to make negative or stupid comments to piss people off and make them respond. You would think that a sports website could have better writers than Yahoo, but they don't. Yahoo, ESPN.com, Foxsports.com and even MSN.com have writers that create intelligent, thoughtfull, unbiased stories, but CBS employs the bottom feeding muckrakers. Freeman, Prisco, Elling and Doyel couldn't right for any of those sites, and I doubt they could write for TMZ sports. I will probably get attacked because this post is negative, just like the stories I am complaining about, and I will agree. The big difference is that I don't make a living being a writer, and they do.

Vikings: One team, two jerks

This is a good fit for the 2 "jerks".

Brett Favre likes to throw the ball deep and have his recievers make a great play for him.  Now he has Randy Moss to go run under all of his hail mary and other deep ball passes.  This is a good fit for both of them and the Vikings will benefit immediately.  This is going to re-charge a lackluster Favre (so far this year).  He must be pumped because he tried getting Green Bay to get him, while he was still there.

Favre can now let er ri[p on the long ball and Randy will go run under them and make plays.  This will start immediately.  There will be no "getting used to each other time".  Look for Favre to go to Moss early and often for the rest of the season.  This makes watching the Vinkings more interesting for me.

I am a Bills fan, so you can see why I need to find entertainment elsewhere.

Maybe this is what the Vikings need or at least survive until their Superstar WR gets healthy?  Or are you a Favre hater and think Tavaris Jackson is they way to the playoffs?  Get real.  Tavaris Jackson couldn't even start for the Bills right now.  The Vikes won't even be a playoff contender next year when Favre is gone.  So, he may be viewed as a Jerk, but he makes them a contender.

This is a good thing for the Vikings - they need Moss, just as much as they need Favre.  They are both still elite at their position, why would the Vikings not take a chance on both?  One pass away from the Superbowl with almost the exact same team, addding Moss to the mix can do nothing but improve them.  Moss hasn't been a problem except for him voicing his opinion and concern for his future in the NFL, you can't blame a guy for looking beyond this year.  Wouldn't you like to know if you were going to have a job in six months?  And how much you were going to be paid?  Just b/c he is a football player doesn't mean he doesn't have real life issues to deal with.  He's still too good to retire - he belongs on a team that will use and pay him.  I think the Vikes are a great fit for Moss, for now.  Favre, AP, Sidney Rice, Moss, Harvin - does that not have success and playoffs written all over it?

The Pats won't be able to keep up their offensive pace w/o Moss - The Pats are basically giving the Division Title to the Jets with this trade.  Moss opens up the field for the entire offense.  Even when he's not catching passes, he's helping the offense - b/c he's always a threat.  Did you see that catch against Revis in the endzone? Exactly...

I like it for the Vikes and Moss.  Don't like it for the Pats, 40 TD's in 3 years is very hard to replace!
