For telling the truth. Please, don't stop. Keep telling the truth. Even when the homophobes and extremists try to shout you down, and they will, keep telling the truth. Even when some African-Americans, bathing in hypocrisy, try to stop you by saying being gay equates to being less than human, keep telling the truth.

I'd argue that your stance now is almost as significant as your Hall of Fame career. You've lended a high profile voice to the fight for equality and yes, keep telling the truth when you're told it's not that. Because it is.

Thank you, Michael Irvin. Hopefully other high profile athletes will follow your lead.

Please, keep telling the truth.

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the is part of the . The amendment prohibits the making of any law “,” impeding the , abridging the , infringing on the , interfering with the or prohibiting the .

No where does this give the government any rights. It prohibits them from infringing on religious rights. Get the facts straight. Government has no right to intefere with my religious freedom. I have all the right in the world to address my beliefs and grievances whether you or the government likes it.

Uh scooter, there is no act that needs to be passed for you to think like an intelligent person is there? The fact we had to pass a law to treat people equally says alot about this country. While u may not agree with someones preference is certainly doesnt need to be legislated to treat them equally. The fact that gay marriages are becoming legalized in many states should tell you that you need to open your mind for change the same way we did in the 1960's, times change and you need to change with them or u will get trampled on.  and by the way im a hetero man.

CaliSteelersFan - Since you may not have learned this in your public education system - There was a Civil Rights Act passed in the 60's that ensured all races and genders would not be discriminated against. I referenced that a while back. The laws of this land including this Act are protected by the Constitution. No Civil rights act has been passed that I know of that protects anyone's sexual preference.

In the same respect, our government is protected from religion, hence the separation of church and state - it's a 2 way street.  Religious organizations get tax free status, and in trade we should be free from religious ideology from interferring with public policy.

This country was founded on freedom of religion and speech however our governments duty is to uphold those rights not influence people to believe a certain way.  Separation of church and state is essential to our freedom and the more politics get intermingled with religion the worse off we are as a country. Keep in mind religious beliefs are the reason why we are involved in so many wars and why so many people have been killed over time. Without religion we would be a more peaceful place. Everyone thinks their God is better  than someone elses and its reason for people to kill.

@ dkh-fl   Glad you could enlighten us all to your beliefs.  The  constitution provides anyone rights to their religious practice and those rights cannot be curtailed by Congress by any law. The constitution protects religious groups from the government, not the other way around. I never said I agreed with Palin or Beck, but obviously you have completely bought into your Government sponsored education rhetoric. As you said stupid stays stupid, especially in your case when you were taught by studid!

You people on here are nuts you all are getting all upset about a blog that was written by a guy who was fired for having lied about his education and work about a guy who is a crackhead and buys hookers.

For the most part unless the media brings up race or gays or any other crap that keeps us seperated most people just dont care.
I for one has never once in 20 years in the military now 2 years having a small buiness has had one conversation about gays or blacks with any of my friends, yet on here in the last 2 weeks alone race and now peoples sex life is the major issues.
People like Freeman want to write about things like this he believes that it will further his career and dumb ass people just eat it up.

The media and politicans want this crap and we fall for it but im betting that most are just like me we just dont care until it gets shoved down our gullets!!!!

Michael Irvin is simply trying to revitalize his image as an uneducated crackhead football player. Do we really believe he feels this way? His brother was gay  so he is trying to justify his womanizing thru his late gay brother. Sounds kinda selfish to me. Do we still believe that wasnt his pipe in the glove compartment? When did he gain any type of credibility?

You guys are nuts. Are you not allowed a conscience thought without wondering if our ignorant ancestors thought of it first?

"Well Jebediah, how shall we light the busy streets so that our wagons do not run over the pigs that run amok?"

"I am glad you asked Ezekiel! We will write a law about using whale fat, so that everyone across the land will have safe lighting for ever more!"

Times have changed, the world has moved on. But you have not.
