For telling the truth. Please, don't stop. Keep telling the truth. Even when the homophobes and extremists try to shout you down, and they will, keep telling the truth. Even when some African-Americans, bathing in hypocrisy, try to stop you by saying being gay equates to being less than human, keep telling the truth.

I'd argue that your stance now is almost as significant as your Hall of Fame career. You've lended a high profile voice to the fight for equality and yes, keep telling the truth when you're told it's not that. Because it is.

Thank you, Michael Irvin. Hopefully other high profile athletes will follow your lead.

Please, keep telling the truth.

Okay buddy I'm waiting for the ONE common trait that ALL HOMOSEXUALS have.

You talk about guys kissing guys being uncomfortable, but i'm sure you feel the same way about unattractive people or old people kissing in public regardless of their orientation. You think it's hot when Madonna makes out with Britney Spears. This is called hypocrisy.

I, personally, think public displays of affection are ridiculous and inappropriate regardless of gay or straight; hot or not, but who am I to tell people they can't do something that isn't illegal?

Who are you to tell a gay couple not to publicly display their affection for each other? (I'll save you the embarrassment. If you answer this rhetorical question, you're an intollerant asshole or a hypocrite).

Why shouldn't gay people get a month after what they have been put through? Black people got a well deserved month (no jokes about it being the shortest month of the year). And, besides, who really suffers from gay people having a month? It's not like you're going to see more gay people. The ones that live in fear aren't suddenly going to come out of hiding because the calendar says it's gay pride month. They will continue to hide from hateful bastards for fear of losing their family, friends, or life.

When a group is oppressed to the point of having to "come out of the closet," we have a real problem as a civilization.

The comparison between being gay and being left-handed is quite simple to anyone with an IQ above 70. It is a trait of birth and approximately the same percentage of people born are with said traits (10% of the population). It is not a choice. It is a predisposition. You can choose to go against your genetic makeup, but it will be a challenge. Try writing or throwing a ball with your left hand if you are right handed. Ask any of the gay people that live as heterosexuals because their parents would disown them, they're religious, or all of the other myriad problems they could potentially face.

And one last thing. For all of you that want to dispute the dictionary version of homophobia as fear and think you're Billy Badass who isn't afraid of gays, walk up to any number of the gay men that can benchpress a Buick and tell them what you think of gay people. I dare you. Or I can save you the beatdown and give you the dictionary definition:

Homophobia: –noun unreasoning fear of or antipathy toward homosexuals and homosexuality.

did you just tell me to Google, gays in nature? That's funny. I'm sure every one of you gay guys has spent endless hours creating "gays in nature" research. And putting it on the web. Let me guess, there is a rare bird who has sex with other rare birds. I am not a homophobe, phobia is a fear of something and I have never and would never fear homosexuals. Disagreeing is not fear.

Let me ask you 1 very simple question, you seem to be an expert. Name 1 quality that ALL HOMOSEXUALS have. You know, something EVERYONE ONE has. Just one.

It makes us all laugh when you compare yourself to blacks and us to the KKK. I'm pretty sure there has never been a black guy who questioned wether he was a black guy. I've known several gay guys who weren't gay. They were just confused and lost, They admit it. I dated a girl who was bullied by a bull dyke lesbian until she actually thought she was a lesbian. She isn't. The bull dyke lesbians love to prey on the weak. Gay guys can't prey on anything because they are the weak.

Okay buddy I'm waiting for the ONE common trait that ALL HOMOSEXUALS have.

I would trade everything to be a famous black athlete.  How cool is it to be Michael Irvin?  Why is Michael Irvin even a name we still hear after he retired?  There isn't a rich spoiled white kid that has ever got this many chances as Irvin has got.  Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if he won the Lotto for 100 million then blew it on coke and white hookers, then won another lotto for even more than he won before.  Is this guy every going to shut up, I can't believe the government allows him and Deion "I only Fornicated" Sanders on the same show at the same time.

Can you imagine Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin, and Shannon Sharpe all on the same show talking to each other about how great they were on the football field?  Actually, that might be the best idea I have ever had.

You refer to gays as if they are all the same, "unstable" people. Many have made generalized references about groups of people who were considered different, whether that be because of race, religion, beliefs or sexual orientation to promote many things including hate, segregatio even declare war. Creating an "US and THEM" mentality is at the basis of many massive conflicts such as WWII and Rwanda. If you want to hitch a ride on that wagon then by all means, it is your right to do so, but don't assume that those of us who are not on it are unstable. Also, the argument that it is against nature is false. Some people may want it to be against nature but only do so to try and justify their ignorance. Google "homosexuality in nature", and then decide what is "against nature". If you believe that gays are inferior, or have contempt for them, then you are a homophobe. If you don't like being one, then do something about it.

As much as I like your username, stupidaints, I have to disagree with your explanation.  Dudes kissing dudes is wrong because you're thinking in your head how you would feel kissing another dude.  Of course it's going to feel wrong, hell, it feels weird typing the words but we have to get beyond that.  The fact is when we see a guy and girl couple kissing, we think about ourselves doing dirty things to her so it's ok and comfortable.  Now you're worried about seeing guys doing that and making you feel weird.  I can't argue with that, but as much as it's not for me, we have to grow up and get beyond that.  have you ever eaten in a restaraunt and seen someone chewing with their mouths open.  What do you do?  You can hate them but that lasts until he leaves, but you just look away because it's not how oyu would act.  This was before my time but kissing in public used to be thought of as gross and inconsiderate, but we grew up.  Let me give you all some advice because change is coming.  Change is always taking place and we are always becoming a more accepting society.  Change your ways because you only become grumpy and hateful old people if you continue this way.  We will all get old and have a very short lifetime, but how you live your life is what could be special, not how you try to control someone elses life.  Even with gays in the world you can do everythign you want to do if you choose to.

Gay promotion has been underway for 50 years. The culture has grown to a point where they feel strong enough to united and force this behaviour on everyone. When I was a little kid I remember thinking, "Life is simple, If something is good and true, it comes with a peace, if its conflicted and wrong, it screams and yells at the world." Gays scream and yell. TMZ, wikileaks, symbols of the GAY world.

And lets be honest the problem isn't homosexuality...its dude kissing dudes....now that is wrong.  I have no problem with lesbian and I mean that in a sexual way and in a real argumentive way.  Homosexuals in my opinion are asking others to accept the wrong things.  They don't need to be married, they want Union just like they shouldn't have guys like Freeman speaking for them because we don't like dudes kissing other dudes.

Remember that gay American Idol guy kissed another dude....gross, but Madonna kissed old girl....rewind

I get Freeman 1) he hates that he is African-American 2) he's gay.  Now I get why he is so uber jump out his skin critical of both the Black Athelete and "homophobic" rants/sarcasm that people have.

He has also shown that he isn't argumentive as he only agrees with those that agree with him.  Now I just viewed Hangover 2 along with many other movies that go ape shit w/ "homophobic" sarcasm again dialogue....however, they are given a free pass because....wait for it guys like Freeman want to jump out their skin to attack others

I remember hating other kids when i was younger.  I usually hated them because I didn't understand them or they made me question myself about what it was I hated them for.  Why would you spend so mcu time hating people for something they want to do.  The reason it is national news is because of  haters like you guys.  If they had the rights all humans deserve then it wouldn't be an issue and it wouldn't be in your face.  Do i think same sex relationships are normal, for me, no.  But I'm not the one it affects so it doesn't bother me.  Why does it affect you haters so much when it doesn't actually affect you?  Or, does it?  Is this something you're struggling with in your own life.  I can imagine feeling the way you do and wanting to tell people but because you've hated so long you would appear to be a hypocrite.  Just forget all the nonsense and move on in your own life.  Everyone pays taxes, everyone benefits from gay people being able to marry.  Everyone also pays taxes for people without jobs and I would assume that there are a lot of people in here commenting when they don't even have jobs.  All the gay people I know, are articulate, smart, and make a hell of a lot of money.  They fund more foundations and support more social programs than any non-job having slacker does.  Anyone who is collecting unemployment should not be commenting in hear.  I feel bad for them because it may not be there fault, but I am in Afghanistan right now with a lot of young people who could have said screw it, I just want to sit around with my buddies and work some menial job.  Young people, gay and straight are dying out here on a daily basis (that is not an exaggeration) and you are worried about two guys or two girls being allowed to love one another?  Wake up, grow up, then get up off your butt and do something constructive instead of waste our time with your personal beleifs.  The haters are the only ones who have a problem, so what does that say about you.
