Albert Haynesworth will now be an All-Pro

The Washington Redskins have traded Albert Haynesworth to the Patriots. In Washington, Haynesworth was a bum. A malcontent, a horrible teammate and a stone, cold jackass. In New England, he'll turn into the best defensive lineman in football.

The move, first reported by ESPN and confirmed by me, is typical Bill Belichick. And it will work. Because this is what Belichick does. He takes reclamation projects, jerks and castoffs, like Randy Moss, shines them up, and turns them into Pro Bowlers.

There is no question -- no question at all -- that Haynesworth will be a great player once again the way he was in Tennessee. And all the Patriots will have given up is a fifth round pick.

Remember this: when Haynesworth was in Tennessee he was considered the best interior lineman in the sport at the time.

In some ways this trade is sad. Haynesworth is being rewarded for his disgraceful behavior in Washington. He's now going to the best organization in football after a shameful tenure with the Redskins. But hell. That's football.

I've called Belichick the best coach in the history of football and been mocked for it but it's true. He can coach anyone, anywhere, any time. He'll do it again with Haynesworth.

Fat Albert will soon be gone. Dominant Haynesworth is just around the corner.

Albert Haynesworth will now be an All-Pro

The only place left for (Fat)Albert to make ALL-PRO is if they let him have a spot in the hot dog eating challenge and he still may get disqualified for coming in out of shape!!

Albert Haynesworth's Last Chance

Just like Moss, this is Fat Albert's last chance to demonstrate an ability to play a team sport and become wealthy doing it.  If he fails to impress Pats leadership, he might as well buy his own Applebee's and eat it into the ground, because nobody else will risk his ego against the health of their team. If there's anything the entire league learned from watching Moss go to the Titans after the Pats, it's that the Pats coaches know when a player has zero plays left in him.

Come on Freeman....Belichick!
He can coach anyone, anywhere, any time
Are you forgetting his tenure in Cleveland?  Does this not qualify?  He was fired by the Browns for the horrible job he did there....do really you have that short of a memeory?  Belichich is getting all the credit because of the skills, ability, and work of Tom Brady PERIOD.  Let's not forget he was caught cheating as well.

If is were not for the outstanding play of Brady, Belichick would be nothing of a coach....what have they won after all his supporting coaching staff left for Cleveland and Notre Dame.

THe media creaks me up by putting this man on a petalstool.

Loving the Pats moves

Low risk, HUGE upside.  If Albert is 2/3 of Tennessee form and Ocho is a deep threat, they win.  Even if neither happens, still SB contenders.  Well done.

Albert Haynesworth will now be an All-Pro

Every player labeled with problems Moss, Dillon, and Harrison haved had there best years for pats under Bellicheck and Harrison and Moss should go into the hall.  By the way Belicheck got a third rounder for Moss. The pats have needed a pass rusher since Willie and Vrabel left.  JETS Suck Knicks suck Yankees suck

Well to me the Patriots have went off the deep end with these two pick ups of Johnson and Haynesworth... Problems are coming Patriot fans and let the side show begin. Patriots are really showing they think this is their last couple seasons to win it all with Brady. Nothing but desperate moves on two big name players who both are really overrated and scene their best days. Made more since to just wait for Owens to be healthy and really Pats have enough weapons at wide out , they needed Bush more than these two guys they picked up. A other down season in store and I would not be the least bit suprised to see them trying to grab a final play off spot because Jets are the team in that division.

how recently?
Pretty damn recently. Why don't you ask that same question to the other 32 teams and see where New England fits in.
