Albert Haynesworth will now be an All-Pro

The Washington Redskins have traded Albert Haynesworth to the Patriots. In Washington, Haynesworth was a bum. A malcontent, a horrible teammate and a stone, cold jackass. In New England, he'll turn into the best defensive lineman in football.

The move, first reported by ESPN and confirmed by me, is typical Bill Belichick. And it will work. Because this is what Belichick does. He takes reclamation projects, jerks and castoffs, like Randy Moss, shines them up, and turns them into Pro Bowlers.

There is no question -- no question at all -- that Haynesworth will be a great player once again the way he was in Tennessee. And all the Patriots will have given up is a fifth round pick.

Remember this: when Haynesworth was in Tennessee he was considered the best interior lineman in the sport at the time.

In some ways this trade is sad. Haynesworth is being rewarded for his disgraceful behavior in Washington. He's now going to the best organization in football after a shameful tenure with the Redskins. But hell. That's football.

I've called Belichick the best coach in the history of football and been mocked for it but it's true. He can coach anyone, anywhere, any time. He'll do it again with Haynesworth.

Fat Albert will soon be gone. Dominant Haynesworth is just around the corner.

Hoody is not going around saying he is a great coach others are.  Your judged on wins, playoff appearances and Superbowls period.  You win you're a great coach you lose your gone.  NFL not for long unless you win and hoody has done that and then some.Cool

Please why all the hero worship for a proven cheater.  You cant do anything with fat albert, there is no return to glory for a player who has done so much to ruin himself the past 2 years,  he is no longer in his prime and he let his body go something moss has never done.  He wont be a pro bowl and i doubt he will be anything more than a situational player  remember Billichick likes speed on the defense and he already had Wilfork in the middle.  As for your greatest coach ever the man was caught cheating,  as much as integrity and sportsmanship are keys to greatness his actions make him only better than average

Hoodie will get the most out of Haynesworth. Hoodie learned from Parcells, that sometimes you have to give certain guys more leeway than others. Haynesworth is not a good guy, by any means, but....in his two years in Washington, first he has the joke of a coach, Zorn. The coach with no authority at all. Then he gets King Shanny, who breaks all the promises that Vinny made to him. So Big Al just turned off his motor.  In New England, Hoodie will massage his ego just enough to get the old Albert back.  What did they give up for him, a 6th round pick? This is a steal, even if they only get one dominant year, still a good deal.

As much as I hate the Pats, smart on their part.  I bet Haynesworth tears it up this season.

Whatever happened to "real" reporters and journalists who actually write fair and balanced articles and actually know what they are writing about? Bill Belichek might be able to get Albert to play better football but he can't change his personality and character. By this time next year I promise you that Albert will not be on the Pats roster. He will either have been cut, traded or in jail. Yeah sure its a good move for Bill because its a no loose situation. He only gives up a 5th rounder two years away, so if Albert goes off on one of his rants and Bill cuts him theres no harm done. Moves like this doesnt make a coach the best coach of all time, its a common sense move.
