Albert Haynesworth will now be an All-Pro

The Washington Redskins have traded Albert Haynesworth to the Patriots. In Washington, Haynesworth was a bum. A malcontent, a horrible teammate and a stone, cold jackass. In New England, he'll turn into the best defensive lineman in football.

The move, first reported by ESPN and confirmed by me, is typical Bill Belichick. And it will work. Because this is what Belichick does. He takes reclamation projects, jerks and castoffs, like Randy Moss, shines them up, and turns them into Pro Bowlers.

There is no question -- no question at all -- that Haynesworth will be a great player once again the way he was in Tennessee. And all the Patriots will have given up is a fifth round pick.

Remember this: when Haynesworth was in Tennessee he was considered the best interior lineman in the sport at the time.

In some ways this trade is sad. Haynesworth is being rewarded for his disgraceful behavior in Washington. He's now going to the best organization in football after a shameful tenure with the Redskins. But hell. That's football.

I've called Belichick the best coach in the history of football and been mocked for it but it's true. He can coach anyone, anywhere, any time. He'll do it again with Haynesworth.

Fat Albert will soon be gone. Dominant Haynesworth is just around the corner.

MPussy53 nice superbowl win last year
You should congratulate fans of the Green Bay Packers. Their team won the Super Bowl and they beat the legit team of the 2000s to get it. I have respect for them unlike a certain team in New England. But thank you. It's nice to be a Steelers fan and know they have won 6 Super Bowl titles, which is more than any other team in the league. It's also nice to know the Steelers can do it the right way instead of having to cheat. Call me when the Spygateriots can win just one without cheating.

Belichick “can coach anyone, anywhere, any time. He'll do it again with Haynesworth. Fat Albert will soon be gone. Dominant Haynesworth is just around the corner.” So sad, but this could well be true. Coach Belichick will lay down the law, won’t play games and show Haynesworth the door if does not excel. These are proven management tools employed by successful leaders in all walks of life.

He hasn't won anything since he got busted, just sayin'.

He won more games in a season than any other in NFL history.  Missed out on one, but I suppose if he was still "cheating" he would have won that Super Bowl, based on the fact that when he was "cheating" he won the Super Bowl EVERY year, right?

Oh wait - he didn't?  You're just a retard?

Got it.

Probably a good trade for both teams. Haynesworth wasn't going to be anything but a distraction in Washington. He started wrong and was never going to get right there. That door was closed. The Patriots got a guy who has been a dominant player if/when he's motivated (and yeah, it's a big if/when!) for a 5th round pick, which is basically a throwaway.

Seriously, you think that fat Al is going to make a difference? Good luck with that. But, if you are putting all your hopes that he can bring any help to that defense, then this will be a long season for the Patriots.

True Albert is chidish in many ways (behavior, attitude, etc) but when Washington signed him he was working with an entirely different coaching staff and defensive system. Then enters the new coaching system and instead of being a team player, we all saw what ensued. Now Albert is going to a team which he know will play the defensive scheme that made him successful and should make him very valuable asset to have. I'm not a Patriot fan by any means, but I think they came out smelling like a rose here.

Mocked for calling Belichick the Best Coach in the History of Football. Whoever mocked you was an asbolute idiot. Belichick is a genius, who has THREE rings on his own, almost 4 within seconds of a 19-0 season and deserves the TWO he won for Parcells in NY. Belichick and Lombardi are the two greatest.

Haynesworth will be benched after the third game of the season, and cut loose in the middle of the year
