Peyton Manning and Tom Brady still battling

This will be Peyton Manning's last contract, his last stint, his last deal before he heads into Canton. Manning already had more money than Trump and this only makes him wealthier. The question for Manning now is simple: what legacy will he leave?

Colts owner Jim Irsay confirmed that Manning signed a contract extension which a league official confirmed was 5-years and $90 million. So the cash is in place. Again. The legacy? More difficult to predict. The end of his career will mirror that of Tom Brady's. Both are around the same age and considered the best of their generation. Manning and Brady are in an arm's race. Brady has the lead with more Super Bowls but it wouldn't be stunning if Manning caught up.

It's true Manning will have to also compete with a number of young, outstanding throwers in his conference like Ben Roethlisberger and outside of his conference like Aaron Rodgers. This one of the great eras for quarterbacks in football.

But for Manning his biggest competition is Brady. That is whom Manning sees as his greatest competition and indeed the two quarterbacks have had some legendary battles.

Brady has the lead but is Manning far behind?

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady still battling

All this talk about who has the most rings has to stop. Unless of course you are going to say Terry Bradshaw was a better QB than Warren Moon, Brett Favre, or Dan Marino. The last time I checked a QB was on the field for less than half of his team's plays. They don't play on defense or special teams. Football is a team sport, and comparing the entire team's output to the worth of a single individual is ridiculous.

Brady vs. Manning is close, but I would have to give the edge to Manning at this point because of his ability to manipulate the defense over the enitrity of the field. Brady is good at mid-range manipulation over the middle, and has worked very hard to get better at the long range. Brady has closed the gap considerably, but I would still give the edge to Peyton. Think of it this way...what would the Patriots have looked like with Peyton Manning as their QB during the Brady years? How would the Colts have fared with Brady at the helm during all of those seasons that they had no defense and had to score everytime down the field? It could just as easily have been Manning 3 Brady 1. Oh yeah...Go Titans!!! :(

I think they are both great QB's. I can't stand Brady at all, but I really like Peyton and wish he won some more Superbowls.  Even though Brady has more rings then Manning, I think Manning is a much better Quarterback. Peyton is an easy first ballot lock for the hall of fame without a doubt.

Hopefully his neck will heal in time for him to make the season opener.

Brady also gets on my nerves because he's like a prima-donna and the officals cater to him. Case in point the no tackling below the knees.  How many times have we seen our favorite teams QB get practically killed and no calls made.  Brady all they have to do is fall at his feet or put a hand up in front of his facemask and the flag is thrown.

I'll take losing to Manning anyday over Brady.

Manning has a neck injury and is on the downside of his career - still a great QB but has a few more years left to try and win another superbowl.

Neither of these guys have won a suberbowl for a while so why does CBS try and make it all about these two?

Your team is good and the Colts aren't asheville? Based on what? Colts win more games than the eagles every year except last year which was a tie between them, so go figure that your logic is terrible.

Propaganda NFL QB Poll

Did anyone notice the indoctrination poll about NFL QB's on the main page? Did you notice the names that were mentioned? Manning, Rodgers, Brady, Brees, Vick, and Not Mentioned. Do you see the storyline here? The obvious question is where is Rivers, Ryan, or Schaub? This isn't a poll about QB's. It's a not so subtle promotion of Mike Vick. So now Vick is mentioned in the top four. CBS is telling you that Vick is now ahead of Rivers. Funny thing is that just a couple seasons ago, whenever broadcasters mentioned top WB's, it was always Manning, Brady, Brees and McNabb. They always slipped McNabb in the back door. Looks like Vick has now assumed the mantle of the G.B.H. at QB. The torch has been passed. Of course anyone who believes Vick is a better QB than Rivers is a complete idiot.

Brady 3 Rings ... Peyton 1   GAME SET MATCH
Brady's a punk a**, pampered Bi***.....one of his rings came after the NFL handed the Patriots and Brady a ticket to the AFC Championship game with the worst call in the history of the NFL....and let's not forget that Belichek was caught cheating going all the way back to thier first win....and they haven't won a thing since.

Rokhard, I think you need anger management class or do you always post like a juvenile delinquent?  Tom Brady is the best and that was voted by the players!

Tom Brady the arrogant ass he is would never do what Peyton just did.  It just goes to show that P Manning doesn't care about ego like all the Patriots do.
