Is Tebow now untradeable?

The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it's becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly.

The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven't been saying he's off the trading block, either.

Again, just to be clear, the Broncos aren't openly shopping Tebow but teams that have asked were told: Make us an offer we can't refuse.

The Broncos might deny this, but based on their recent actions, it seems they're realizing Tebow might not be a bona fide NFL thrower. Tebow was the third quarterback in Denver's last game. It might not stay that way, and there is a solid chance Tebow simply stays in Denver and learns and the franchise keeps him around.

But do you put a guy you like in that kind of embarrassing situation? Probably not.

The are two big problems for the Broncos and Tebow. First, there's the belief that the Broncos might even cut Tebow (I don't see that), so why would a team trade for him?

Second, some in football think Tebow might need to be switched to another position. One team executive says he believes Tebow would be a Pro Bowl fullback, a belief I've heard several times from others around the sport.

It's a complicated matter with no easy solution for the Broncos or Tebow. In a few weeks, or even less, we'll know his future for sure.

If he can run, he would be a weapon...

...because anytime he had the ball, the linebackers could NOT move up for the tackle, they would have to respect the strong possibility of a throw. And if he ran enough times and the linebackers started coming up looking to help, he would likely have receivers open in the middle where the linebackers had just vacated. Even if he cannot make it as an NFL QB, he can still produce significantly.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

letsgomets2011- Not sure anyone saw Orton being a legitimate starting QB in the NFL, myself included. His play was a bit out of left field and that complicated the situation. If Orton bombed last year there is no doubt Tebow would be the starter right now. But instead Orton posted ELITE numbers: Orton's stats projected over a full 16 game schedule last year have him throwing for 4,500 yards with roughly 25 TDs and 60% completion. Sure you could point to his stats the year before and say you saw it coming but I think most people attributed 2009 to Brandon Marshall and not Orton. But when Orton IMPROVED in almost every category with Brandon Lloyd as his star WR, people were a bit shocked. I mean we're talking BRANDON LLOYD here. Tebow just got super unlucky to have Orton mature into a borderline elite QB.

That's a real inside scoop.  Every player on every team in every sport is available if there is an offer made that the current team can't refuse.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

why did the broncos STRETCH for tebow (1st round) when they had/have both kyle orton and brady quinn on the roster? I feel that this guy is a bonafide leader (as evidenced by his college career) and just needs a chance to prove he can be an NFL Qb..would love to see him be the running back lol

Way too early to determie Tebows ability to play QB.  I think the Broncos are the right team for Tebow, and they have handled things quite well.  I still think Tebow can run a team at QB, but when that will be is hard to say.  Remember Aaron Rodgers? he sat under Favre foreer, and lots of people were questioning why to keep him.  Yu just never knowwith QB's.  Tebow has bonafide intangibles, his leadership, his will to win, his entusiasm.  The fans love him, so I see the Broncos keeeping him and letting him develop.

People that jump to the "he's not that good," must be new to NFL football. Name 10 QBs that were "that good" in their first couple of years. Sure if old Josh thought he was first, second or third year starter he was mistaken, but as a project, even at QB he is worth a roster spot on a team with a starter in place right now, today. Will he pan out in a pass oriented offense? Maybe not, but for those teams that don't rely on precision passers he could develope. Last year he wasn't awful, he just wasn't ready to be a full time starter. It's merely where he was drafted that has muddied the water. Had he gone even as early as the fourth round, no one would be hollering he is a bad project.

Lol. Football invented to make money for the rich white people and really has little to do with earning positions. After all other races have co-opted basketball and now working on football as well as trying to take over baseball but that is not as likely since it requires a little subtlety. Swimming is out due to high body density (i.e they sink) as is anyting requiring a finely tuned nervous system. Whites will soon be either out of football or on the fringe because their more sensitive nervous system cannot handle the punishment. It is inevitable and that is why. Duh!
