Is Tebow now untradeable?

The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it's becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly.

The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven't been saying he's off the trading block, either.

Again, just to be clear, the Broncos aren't openly shopping Tebow but teams that have asked were told: Make us an offer we can't refuse.

The Broncos might deny this, but based on their recent actions, it seems they're realizing Tebow might not be a bona fide NFL thrower. Tebow was the third quarterback in Denver's last game. It might not stay that way, and there is a solid chance Tebow simply stays in Denver and learns and the franchise keeps him around.

But do you put a guy you like in that kind of embarrassing situation? Probably not.

The are two big problems for the Broncos and Tebow. First, there's the belief that the Broncos might even cut Tebow (I don't see that), so why would a team trade for him?

Second, some in football think Tebow might need to be switched to another position. One team executive says he believes Tebow would be a Pro Bowl fullback, a belief I've heard several times from others around the sport.

It's a complicated matter with no easy solution for the Broncos or Tebow. In a few weeks, or even less, we'll know his future for sure.

They should make Tebow into a safety...

Is Tebow now untradeable?

This could easily work out for both parties as Tebow could also be a backup FB for the Colts.
I have nothing against Tebow, but I can't see this happening for any number of reasons.  The first being, Tebow isn't really Polian's type of QB.  Second, they won't want to give up what the Broncos will probably be asking.  I doubt they want to let Tebow go for a 6th or 7th rounder after moving up to get him in the first... and the Colts aren't going to part with much for a guy they only want to play a couple games while Manning is (maybe) out.

Finally: there is no value to the Colts in him becoming a future Fullback... backup or otherwise.  The Colts don't use the position.  They don't have a single Fullback on their training camp roster, and haven't carried a Fullback on an active roster since 2007 (an undrafted rookie that they had on the roster for 6-8 games for special teams purposes, then released him in the off season).

More likely, if they think Peyton will only miss a game or two, the Colts will just suck it up and put Orlovsky (or God-forbid, Curtis Painter) on the field.  If they think it's going to be longer term, they may indeed trade for a vet someplace, but I doubt it would be for Tebow and all the hooplah that comes with him.

Tebow needs to swtich postions or he's not going to last in the NFL. Not team will bring in Tebow as a QB after Denver cuts him. I just think it's funny that they gave up a top pick for this guy. Was I the only one who knew for a fact he couldn't play NFL QB ever? No matter what? I don't think I was, not sure what Denver saw in him. What a waste of a pick.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

The football evaluators do not really know what they are doing for they grade athletics over character.
Uhm, isn't that exactly what they should be evaluating?  I would be willing to bet that I have a lot more character than a lot of people playing football right now.  I am not on a roster because I'm not as strong, not as fast, and I can't catch/throw/run the ball as well.

Everyone wants to make Tim Tebow out to be an elite football player because he works hard and is a great leader.  Peyton Manning works hard, Tom Brady works hard, Drew Brees works hard, Philip Rivers works hard, Aaron Rodgers works hard...need I go on?  The difference between that list and Tebow is talent.  Those guys are all talented.  Tim Tebow is a nice guy, which means nothing as far as playing football on Sundays.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

A sad example of a franchise over-reaching for a player who they wanted to be better than he really was, and everyone knew it.  Image and perception are both important, but at the end of the day, the only thing that matters is whether you can play and Tebow cannot play this position at this level.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

That's a first... A white guy so physically gifted that his best chance at survival in the NFL is to switch to a position other than QB to take advantage of his athleticism... What will happen next?

Is Tebow now untradeable?

I don;t really know how much of Freeman's story is speculation but if it is the Bronco's are doomed for the next 2-3 years minimum for all the trade picks they gave the Ravens to get Tebow in a crucial 2010 draft loaded with talent they just missed out on.  That move had many groaning and others laughing for its audacity.  Has the Tim Tebow experiment been officiall declared a failure?  The only thing for sure is that Denver now looks like a perennial bottom dweller.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

According to unnamed sources Colts Owner Irsay is interested in Tebow as a backup to Peyton Manning due to uncertain status of him starting the season as a starter.

This could easily work out for both parties as Tebow could also be a backup FB for the Colts.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

He won the Heisman as a quarterback validating his belief that he is in fact a quarterback.
So did Charlie Ward and he had an incredibly mediocre professional career......on the Knicks.
