Is Tebow now untradeable?

The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it's becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly.

The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven't been saying he's off the trading block, either.

Again, just to be clear, the Broncos aren't openly shopping Tebow but teams that have asked were told: Make us an offer we can't refuse.

The Broncos might deny this, but based on their recent actions, it seems they're realizing Tebow might not be a bona fide NFL thrower. Tebow was the third quarterback in Denver's last game. It might not stay that way, and there is a solid chance Tebow simply stays in Denver and learns and the franchise keeps him around.

But do you put a guy you like in that kind of embarrassing situation? Probably not.

The are two big problems for the Broncos and Tebow. First, there's the belief that the Broncos might even cut Tebow (I don't see that), so why would a team trade for him?

Second, some in football think Tebow might need to be switched to another position. One team executive says he believes Tebow would be a Pro Bowl fullback, a belief I've heard several times from others around the sport.

It's a complicated matter with no easy solution for the Broncos or Tebow. In a few weeks, or even less, we'll know his future for sure.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

been reading a lot of these comments since i posted on here earlier and all i keep hearing is throwing motion throwing motion throwing motion. sorry if i offend any broncos fans but orton is a crap qb. so called experts are making waaaaaayyyy to much over orton's accuracy. ur on espn or a blogger and not even seeing the words coming out of ur mouth. the words say 8-9 million a year for 58% accuracy. are u serious? thats a lot of money for a guy who panics and throws his accuracy out the window when pressured. ask bears fans. and quinn came from cleveland. there were prolly browns fans lining up at the airports ticket windows begging to buy his tickedt out of town lol. and ur better off, colt looks better this year. but in my life ive seen a qb with the prettiest throwing motion and bomb of an arm in jeff george be a complete loser in the pros. he sucked as a person and even throwing for four hundred yards he would find a way to lose the game. have u seen what the colts have at backup this and every preseason? colts fans cringe everytime peyton gets hit cause they know if he goes down they do as well. now u give peyton a backup like tebow and let him learn from u for 3-6 years and the colts will continue to dominate long after manning is gone. but a team would have to give up a lot to get him cause they just paid him 6 mil. because of that he is very tradeable. the broncs moved him to third string and when u pay a guy young first string money it will become cancerous to a team. they have to get rid of him. that doesnt change the fact that the broncos suck all over the field. everyone keeps attacking his mechanics when the question is is he untradeable now and the reality is mechanics are less important then anyone ever mentions aka jeff george. they need to trade him, get what they can and let everyone move on with their life. other teams need qbs now and some like the colts need a qb that can sit and learn. the next question is who is the next to give up a lot to get a backup possible future sood starter

Tebow isn't even eligible for the practice squad is he? Well he wouldn't last there anyway.

The Broncos would be well served if they put him on the practice squad.

You don't put somebody you still owe over 6 million dollars in guaranteed money on the practice squad, it just doesn't work that way.  I'm very surprised people in this thread aren't talking about how much cash is going to be involved here.  Exactly 29 days after training camp started this year the Broncos have to write a check payable to Tim Tebow for 6.275 million dollars.  It's a "bonus" but is basically an advance of 80-90 percent of his next 3 years salary.  This situation is very complicated for the Broncos because obviously they've had a change of heart and don't want to keep him.  It's either that or they are putting out feelers to see if anybody will take Tebow's contract off their hands.  The Broncos are wasting their time though because nobody is going to give them anything for Tebow.  They'll wait until the Broncos cut him and teams will then bid on his services for a lot less money.... and of course along the way the Broncos will pay Tebow over 6 million dollars and he'll become an even richer young man.

What everyone forgets is that Tebow is a polarizing figure on that team or in fact ANY NFL team.  I understand from many people, that many of his teammates do not like his outward Christian values or the fact that he  is so outspoken about his life and his life experiences. (he wrote an autobiography at 24). That does not sit well with guys that have been around the league for 10-15 years, and don;t feel as though they need a 24 yr old rookie telling them how to live their lives as a Christian. He might work work like a trojan at becoming an NFL quarterback, but he is still a VERY immature person. I'm guessing that this is a major problem with him and whether or not he will actually get a chance to play quarterback in the future.

The problem is not Tebow.  He can play, he was hurt by no OTAs he has only had one offseason so he still has alot to learn and he will.  The problem is Orton.  When the Broncos were trying to trade him Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow were all set to compete for the starting job.  Then Orton made outrageous salary demands, he wanted to be paid as a franchise QB.  He is not a Franchise QB never will be.  He is efficient, doesnt make many mistakes but what you have seen from him is all you will ever see.  He has no upside.  Is he better than Chad Henne or Brady Quinn or TIm yes.  In the future not a chance.  Once the trade didnt happen suddenly Denver had to make him happy.  He is the only one who has taken first team snaps.  That is ridiculous.  Tebow and Quinn will get better if Denver lets them.  If not be happy with 8-8 or 9-7 because that is what Orton will give you.

Tim Tebow is a fine Christian man I am sure he is but you have to Translate Tim Tebow the Man. Tim Tebow the Quarterback plain and simple. The Broncos would be well served if they put him on the practice squad. The Quarterbacks coaches could then Concentrate on his horrible footwork to keep him in pocket until the pocket breaks down. Right now his happy feet are a liability he just cannot stay still. The Broncos drafted him in the Josh McDanials era and we know how bad that was. John Fox then needs to work on his throwing mechanics throwing across his body for one throwing on the run across the field. He does not have John Elway's arm. Is it possible for Elway to take him and work with him because that's the only way I see him being a NFL quarterback.

Is Tebow now untradeable?

I wrote a response or post at 5:23pm on August 21st that has garnered a couple responses that Id like to address. First of all, I am a Gators fan, therefore a Tim Tebow fan. I do have a pic of him as my avatar, yes. OK, with that being said, my post had nothing to do with Tim Tebow the QB, Tim Tebow the football player or Tim Tebow the person. It was squarely a response to the article and what I consider the piss poor journalistic effors of one, Mike
Freeman. Ive been following for over five years and if you archive my blogs, you will see this is nowhere near my first negative response to this schmuck. He is biased and racist in every sense of the word. He publishes artlicles hat are based on heresay, conjecture and rumor wih  small fraction of fact thrown in. As I said earlier, if I had my way, Id have fired and deported this so called "writer" years ago.  My fondness for Tebow had absolutely nothing to do with my response.

Someone will trade for Tebow and show us all how stupid and unimaginative the Broncos really are.  I knew when Fox went to Denber that Tebow was doomed.......I am a Panthers fan so I know Fox well..........he is a QB killer!
Come on Miami, or someone with a backbone.............take Tim and excite your fans.  The Bronco fans can go back to slimy, boring Orton, and playboy Quinn....They aren't going anywhere for a long, long time.  HOORAY.
