Is Tebow now untradeable?

The consensus in speaking with a handful of team personnel executives when it comes to one Tim Tebow is this: A trade could happen, but it's becoming increasingly likely the Broncos will keep or cut Tebow because the trade interest is dwindling rapidly.

The executives portray the Tebow situation as a complicated one. They believe that while the Broncos are not openly trying to trade Tebow, they say that when teams have recently inquired about him, the Broncos haven't been saying he's off the trading block, either.

Again, just to be clear, the Broncos aren't openly shopping Tebow but teams that have asked were told: Make us an offer we can't refuse.

The Broncos might deny this, but based on their recent actions, it seems they're realizing Tebow might not be a bona fide NFL thrower. Tebow was the third quarterback in Denver's last game. It might not stay that way, and there is a solid chance Tebow simply stays in Denver and learns and the franchise keeps him around.

But do you put a guy you like in that kind of embarrassing situation? Probably not.

The are two big problems for the Broncos and Tebow. First, there's the belief that the Broncos might even cut Tebow (I don't see that), so why would a team trade for him?

Second, some in football think Tebow might need to be switched to another position. One team executive says he believes Tebow would be a Pro Bowl fullback, a belief I've heard several times from others around the sport.

It's a complicated matter with no easy solution for the Broncos or Tebow. In a few weeks, or even less, we'll know his future for sure.

Dolphins!

Trade tebow to the dolphins---they have a mediocre starter and their backup is terrible.  Tebow can ride the bench for a couple of years and learn the game.

Blood no need for name calling on here, just makes you look like you dont know what you are talking about. Tebow's mechanics remind me of B Leftwhich who had a ok career and still in the league. A crazy idea would be to have a NFL QB coach actually work with him. Give him time, heck make him the third string and a project. You are talking like Tebow is the Broncos biggest problem. Or maybe they should focus on no proven RB or WR or that defense that cant keep a guy like me out of the endzone. You can say all the negatives about his throwing motion but at the end of the day I want a winner with a lot of heart. Tebow has that and that is the part that no coach can coach. So lets not write an ending before its time, not everyone is going to be a T Brady, P Manning, or J Montana and come right out of college and be ready. I want good people in my franchise so it doesn't get set so far back it will be in the same section as the Raiders. Everyone is blowing this up one way or another. The sky is not falling and Tebow's career wont shouldn't be decided in a year and preseason. Lets wait and see!

Is Tebow now untradeable?

There's no comparison to be made between Michael Vick (once in a generation athletic ability) and Tebow. To even mention them in the same breath is ludicrous. Vick's throwing mechanics were never, by any measure, as horrendous as Tebow's. Tebow's speed and escapability are maybe 1/10 of Vick's. and other than a handful of highlights, those qualities didn't serve Vick especially well in the pros. Play contain, force him to become a passer, and you effectively take him out ofthe game. A decade later, Vick is finally showing some ability as a passer. If it took a far greater player than Tebow so long to adjust, why would anyone think Tebow had any chance at all?

Is Tebow now untradeable?

I was at the last open practice this year and was very close to hear Tebow talking. He was talking to one of the offensive lineman waiting to get in. He said that "in order to keep everyone from keeping this a soap opera I think I may QUIT THE NFL next year". This does not surprise me coming from him. Football is a station in life for him NOT a WAY OF LIFE. This quote from Tebow makes sense as he does not like the division that is surrounding the team and he would STEP DOWN so the team could thrive. This fits with his personality and his beliefs. I have always thought he would be an outstanding full back! He is a winner in heart and soul......I just wanted to report this as I was very shocked at what I heard.

Hey, idiot. Do you realize that coming from a spread offense is the least of his problems? He has the worst mechanics of any player currently listed as a QB on an NFL roster. This isn't softball. You can't be an effective NFL QB with such a slow, wind up, windmill-like delivery. His alleged "values and morals" count for precisely dick on the football field. There's no stat for memorizing bible verses or helping little old ladies across the street. The fact that Brady freaking Quinn, of all people, has been getting more reps than him lately should tell you something. The guy has no future as an NFL QB. He's a glorified version of Eric Crouch and nothing more. Let the hype die. It isn't warranted.

Since when does being "a good strong Christian man with good values and morals" translate into success in the NFL at the QB position.  I don't understand why so many people keep citing how a great a person Tim Tebow is.  I'm not saying that he isn't, but when people criticize him they talk about his mechanical flaws (poor throwing motion and sloppy footwork) and his poor decision making.  Based solely on his performance as a QB the Denver Broncos made a huge reach drafting him where they did and now they are trying to find a way to rectify the situation.  I just wish people would separate Tim Tebow the person from Tim Tebow the Quarterback when we were having discussions about him.

do you idiots not realize that at least 95% of quarterbacks coming out of college come from spread offenses and never/very seldom take a snap under center? It's learning time for Tim. He's a good, strong, Christian man with good values and morals, the kind any franchise should want to groom as their QB of the future. He's a firm locker room presence and a good leader. You can't ask for much better.

Make him a FB. Now way they should cut or trade him - yet. If he's such a team guy who just wants to play, yada yada... he should have no problem, plus he has demonstrated that he can run with power.

cahall15 - what do you mean by "everythng you want in a qb"?  Do you mean a terrible throwing motion?  Zero experience taking snaps from center?  The complete inabllity to run a pro-style passing game?  Seriously, do you know anything about the guy?  Also, how can you say he's kept his nose clean when he cheated in high shoool and FHSAA had to implement new rules to keep others from doing the same things?  And how, exactly do you lead or earn respect as a on overrated bust who never sees the field?  It sounds like he's overpaid and divisive and need to go.
