No HGH testing this season?

Posted on: September 2, 2011 1:42 pm

There will be no HGH testing at the start of the season, I've confirmed.  But that's not the big story about why the players and owners couldn't reach an agreement on testing.

The Washington Post first reported on a memo sent to all teams that no HGH testing will happen for the start of the year. That was actually expected.

The bigger issue is that sources within the union and league don't believe HGH testing will happen this season at all. Why is a matter of great debate. The league blames the union and the union blames the league (surprising I know).

One union official says there are still unsettled issues about the reliability of the tests. Quite simply, the union doesn't trust the tests. They don't care if the World Anti-Doping Agency developed them and those tests are administered in other sports like minor league baseball and track and field.

The union isn't going to agree to HGH testing until the testing accuracy reaches the level it desires. It's that simple.

The league says the testing accuracy is already there and so here we are.

An agreement on HGH testing could indeed come later but I don't think it will be anytime soon. In fact, I'd be shocked if the league administered HGH testing within the next few months or even the next year or so. That's how strongly the union feels on this issue.

No HGH testing this season?

H.G.H. use is in all major sports in U.S.A. To hink otherwise is naive. The problem here is that the N.F.L. is way at the top of this mountain. To implement testing would require long advance warning by head offices. Wich was not possible with the strike that took place. When this does happen, it would make the M.L.B. scandal look pedestrian. When our government needs another diversion, this story will break....lol

An attempt at cleaning this up would take long advance warning in part of the league.  In which, they certainly did not have the ability thi year  with the strike.  And even then, it would make the M.L.B. scandol look pedestrian.

No HGH testing this season?

How can you care about HGH when we shoot up players at half time with painkillers so they can play the second half.  This whole idea is pointless.  Brett Farve as well as other players had to go to rehab for pain killers.  We are pissing in the wind here.

the next "sigh" we hear will be warm wind created by BOTH the NFLPA & the ("it's all for the fans!," "PSLs are a good investment.") commissioner explaining (or flatulating, same thing, all orifices) something completely irrelevant while they figure out a way to distract everyone from the REAL problem... percent of players using after 9 yrs old = 97.

No HGH testing this season?

i hope that the union and the league can agree to test but not suspend any players.  it would be very interesting to just see the number of players that would be suspended if the test's were real.  i would think that it would be over a 75% failure rate.  the number would shock those of you that think only other teams use HGH.  all teams are guilty of this drug useage.  i am a Steeler fan and i don't try to fool myself into thinking that the Steelers are one of the teams that doesn't abuse HGH.  i admit i would hope that the Steelers players wouldn't abuse their bodies and risk even more health problems in their futures.  so i don't fool myself into thinking that there will be HGH testing any time soon.  i would be surprised if they tested for HGH anytime in the current CBA.  i hope to hear what other teams fans think about the players they have on their favorite teams when it comes to using HGH.  no tests for now and maybe never.

So the union doesn't want testing. I'm certain it stems from their absolute fear that the number of suspensions would make it impossible to field most team. If they don't start testing immediately, the traces will disappear and their coveted "superstar" athletes will not get caught. I cry foul to the union! Get with the program and finally accept that the fans are tired of the cheaters.
Disgraceful!
