Manning's immediate future in question

Posted on: September 5, 2011 11:35 am

The Colts did the expected: they said in a statement that Peyton Manning is doubtful to play on Sunday. Translation: he won't be on the field. No way in hell.

The bigger question is something I wrote about this weekend and that's the immediate future of Manning. A source within the Indianapolis organization said the team is concerned Manning could miss several games or even slightly more. I think that's where this is headed.

My guess is we won't see Manning until Week 3 at the earliest and I'm wondering if that is optimistic.

The Colts and Manning are both being careful as hell as they should be. This may be the one time we won't see a miraculous Manning recovery.

Manning's immediate future in question

Though I'm not a Colts fan I've always enjoyed watching Manning operate under centre. He is a premier player in the league and makes every Colts game worth watching! Hoping for a quick recovery but this type of injury is defiitely not one to mess with!

It will be strange to see the Colts play without him at QB!

Hope to see him back under centre soon!

Manning's immediate future in question

There are reports coming out that he needs ANOTHER operation on his neck...  I hope that isn't the case.  The game doesn't seem the same without him out there playing, so I wish him well, and hope this gets sorted out, so he can finish his career on his own terms.  If the reports are true-- and further work is needed on his neck-- he could be out for the season, if not indefinitely.

Really? It's the owner's fault?

Peyton Manning has over $100 million dollars in personal wealth. I'm thinking just maybe he could have afforded a doctor during the lockout.

The owners? Get Real.

Manning's immediate future in question

The Owners should have thought twice before locking players out and preventing them from obtaining proper medical care.

Now one of their marquee players career is in jerpordy. I hope they feel it was worth it.

Not sure if Irsay is going to.

As some one with a fused neck and subsequent nerve damage I know it is not something to mess with.

I for one hope Peyton Manning makes a full recovery. I look forward to the Patriot competing against the best each season.  The Pats / Colts games have always been my favorites.

Get well soon Peyton!

Manning's immediate future in question

Neck surgery yesterday(ok 100 days ago!) and there's thought about the guy playing in September...rush the guy back and assure retirement...Colts open 1-3 without him and I'd shelve him til next year...anyone remember the great Sterling Sharpe?? Maybe we never see the guy in the NFL again...could happen...the Colts failure to povide the needed post op medical care he needed is the cause of this...right...the strike's first casualty as the Colts could not legally assist medically the face of their franchise....pretty bizarre...
