Two Steelers fined by league

It's no secret the Pittsburgh Steelers despise the league office and believe Commissioner Roger Goodell specifically targets them. It's also no secret -- though perhaps more of one -- that the league office isn't crazy about some of the Steelers. (The league will deny this vehemently but it's accurate.)

Two Steelers have been fined by the NFL: Troy Polamalu $15,000 for a horse collar tackle and Ike Taylor $15,000 for a head butt. (Nice one, Ike.) Ravens player Brendon Ayanbadejo was also fined for a horse collar tackle. He'll be $15,000 lighter in the wallet as well.

It's only fitting that it took just one game for the NFL to fine the Steelers. Now, the Steelers deserved the fines but this will only further their persecution complex.

Cue the Steelers saying the NFL targets only them in three, two, one...

Maybe the Steelers coaching staff should teach them how to play football. That would solve nearly all the team issues...other than the fact they keep trying to change to a pass first offense without the QB to do it...

It's fitting because, as you said, they deserved it.  There are only two entities that say the NFL has it out for the Steelers, and they would be the Steelers and Mike Freeman.

P.S. Way to spell specifically like a 4 year old.

Learn the rules on a chop block, WHINER.  It has been addressed.  They were not chop blocks.  If you need me to I can post the rule for you. Well, you sound like a smart guy so I'll do it anyway:

On a running play, A1, an offensive lineman, chops a defensive player after the defensive player has been engaged by A2 (high or low), and the initial alignment of A2 is more than one position away from A1.  The rule applies only when the block occurs at a time when the flow of the play is clearly away from A1.”

And so, if the center hits a guy high and a tackle hits him low, it’s a penalty.  When it’s a center and one of the two guards, the chop block is not illegal.

Too funny, the same writer who chides posters for misspellings can't even edit. Nice job, you hypocrite.

Hey Freeman,

Instead of talking about a persecution complex, how about talking about the fact that none of the Ravens offensive lineman were penalized or even fined for their Illegal Chop Blocks on every play.  It has not even been addressed.  Yes Ike and Troy deserved the fines, but the please you can not tell me that the NFL has not gone too far with some of the Steeler players.  Despite the best efforts of the NFL, when it is all said and done the Steelers will once again be contending for a Super Bowl.

Maybe instead of a persecution complex they should have put up a better effort against the Ravens.  I know they went to the SB last year, but that isn't going to help them this year.

Thanks for clarifying what millions of NFL fans already know Freeman.
