Pittsburgh beats Indy, 23-20

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Steelers were headed towards one of the more humilating regular season losses in recent franchise history. They were about to lose to the two-headed monster of Kerry Collins and Curtis Freaking Painter. Think about that for a second.

Then two things happened. Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison, who had been quiet for much of the game, stripped Painter of the football. It bounced directly into the hands of safety Troy Polamalu who ran it in for the score. Touchdown, Pittsburgh.

Later, Ben Roethlisberger led the Steelers 10-plays and 60 yards in just over two minutes, to within field goal range, and Shaun Suisham's 38-yard kick gave Pittsburgh the 23-20 victory.

It was damn ugly but the Steelers survived.

The little respect, overall, that Big Ben sometimes gets amazes me. The first quarter, he put on a clinic, and all the announcers could gush about is Wallace, as if he threw the ball to himself! Just like the Super Bowl, when Ben should have been MVP instead of Holmes.

It's kind of hard to respect a rapist.

Watching the Steelers OL makes me cringe. They are just so bad. Heck, even Pouncey wasn't good tonight which is rare. The Steelers won ugly tonight but at least they won. Troy was all over the field tonight. What an amazing player.

go cry yourself to sleep. Your team won and you're whining about Super Bowl MVPs. Pathetic display by you.

I don't know if I'd say so much that the Steeler's win ugly as the Steeler's won despite Ben Rothelsburger's ugly play.  Sure, he stepped up and made some plays when he had to, but he was running scared the entire night.  This Steeler's team has no chance.  They can't run, their defense is aging, and Big Ben is as lackluster as always.

And, sure, Curtis Painter is unproven with a shaky track record.  But, frankly, can he be any worse than kerry?

They should still be embarassed that they made Painter look like Peyton Manning on that last drive.
