The Daily Shoutout: Tebow time

OPENING HIT: This is the biggest test yet for the league's latest infatuation, Tim Tebow, who can't play a lick of quarterback but somehow has become the most talked about quarterback in football not named Aaron Rodgers.

Check that. Tebow has become an even bigger phenom than Rodgers.

And Thursday night will be his biggest test because despite the Jets playing on a short week, they are going to bring the heat to Tebow. There will be no taking him lightly. There will be no overlooking. Tebow is going to face the full wrath of a talented defense -- not great defense, but talented -- that is irritated from being humiliated by the Patriots. They're going to be ornery.

What the Jets will do: put their corners man up on Denver receivers -- since Tebow has no accuracy they won't get beat -- and crash the line with bodies to stop Tebow running. It's simple.

The biggest test yet, indeed. And Tebow is going to fail it.

Sorry Tim.

I continue to hear LaDainian Tomlinson is strongly considering retiring after this season. I'm not 100 percent on this but it would shock no one close to him. The day he retires the clock begins to tick on him entering the Hall of Fame.

Wow 1 throw that was a "56 yards bomb to Decker" whoopee. That must make him a Hallf of Famer for sure, put him Canton now> It is this kind of attitude as to why so many people bristle about Tenow, the constant praise of what he does well trying to make up for the things he doesn't do well and then berating people for pointing out his flaws. Tebow might be a good player, but he is not a great QB doing what you expect QBs to do i.e. throw the ball accurately.

Tebow never started when McDaniels was there.  Eric Studeville was the coach when Tebow started last year.  If you claim to be a Denver football fan, at least do a little research.

The full wrath of the Jets ooohh the Denver Broncos are so scared.  I suggest the Jets take care of the ball and score a lot I mean a lot early.  If its close late Sanchez will make a stupid throw or fumble.  LT please this guy is so done.  The Jets best be handing off to Green and notthat wash up LT.  The Jets are an average team and notorius chokers except '69 when Joe Willie took them to the promised land....a guy that barely had a 50% completion rate.

Mike Freeman like so many other NFL Analyst/writers can't recognize talent if it hit them in the face.  Bradshaw, Elway and  Favre were too dumb to play at the NFL level but look at their careers.  Marino... drug problem... too coked up to play...look at his numbers.  All these guys are in Canton now.  We are going to judge Tebow after a handful of starts on a team barely better than the Colts. Hooie!  When Denver gets rid of Fox and Elway and bring in players that fit Tebows style Denver will win big again. According to the great George Allen(Rams & Redskins) "when you pass the ball 3 things can happen and 2 of them are bad."  If you can rush the ball 55 times and get away with it do it..its working for Denver so far.  As for the other sports writer that "couldn't figure out what Denver was doing on offense" this past sunday...if you could you would have a headset on and be on the sidelines on sunday calling plays!

What about the Denver defense against the Jets offense?  If you'd like to talk about bringing the heat, talk about Von Miller.  The Jets don't have a consistent pass rusher.  Miller looks to be the real deal.

Jets pressuring Tebow ?

Count on it, and count on it backfiring.   Rex Ryan has been known to make some lousy decisions, being a boistrous sort.

Jets should just play a standard defense, and win (or not) man to man.  They have better talent, more chemistry.

If those New York Jets pressure Tebow, blitz him and chase him around, they are asking for a back yard brawl, when they should be trying to win with a conventional fight using convetional football weapons.  Tebow can only beat NYJ be improvising, using his feet, and turning this into a scrum.

If I am Denver ... and I am ... I say, bring the heat!

Go Tebow ... 4-1 is right aorund the corner.

I don't think it matters whether the Broncos and Tim Tebow win against the Jets or not. Obviously, your analysis, or lack thereof, supports the theory that he can't throw to anyone and therefore, the game is already over. Fortunately, for the rest of the sane people who ocasionally read your postings, understand games are played on the field, not on your keyboard.

I haven't really figured out why you hate Tebow so much...he led the team to victories over the Dolphons, Raiders and Chiefs and he lost against the Lions. So, do you like Panthers Cam Newton? He must be dreadful because the Panthers are 2-7, but he sure throws a pretty ball...tell me, will you be happy if Tebow fails? Will you enjoy it?

You did make a nice comment about , so I guess you don't hate him.

The answer is simple as to why Tebow is not throwing like he did last year or when he was at FL...they keep screwing with his throwing style.  They need to let Tebow alone and let him throw the way he throws.  As long as the offensive line is doing their job, he will do fine, which was evident last year when McDaniels didn't try to change him.  I can't wait for the Broncos to prove all those supporting the J-E-T-S wrong tonight and they have to eat their words. I am sure they will make a 100 plus excuses for why Denver won.  HATERS!
