The Daily Shoutout: Tebow time

OPENING HIT: This is the biggest test yet for the league's latest infatuation, Tim Tebow, who can't play a lick of quarterback but somehow has become the most talked about quarterback in football not named Aaron Rodgers.

Check that. Tebow has become an even bigger phenom than Rodgers.

And Thursday night will be his biggest test because despite the Jets playing on a short week, they are going to bring the heat to Tebow. There will be no taking him lightly. There will be no overlooking. Tebow is going to face the full wrath of a talented defense -- not great defense, but talented -- that is irritated from being humiliated by the Patriots. They're going to be ornery.

What the Jets will do: put their corners man up on Denver receivers -- since Tebow has no accuracy they won't get beat -- and crash the line with bodies to stop Tebow running. It's simple.

The biggest test yet, indeed. And Tebow is going to fail it.

Sorry Tim.

TOMLINSON:
I continue to hear LaDainian Tomlinson is strongly considering retiring after this season. I'm not 100 percent on this but it would shock no one close to him. The day he retires the clock begins to tick on him entering the Hall of Fame.

The Daily Shoutout: Tebow time

<span style="color: #000000;">Personally, on a fantasy team I'm starting Palmer over Sanchez over Tebow week 11.  But weeks 11, 12, 15, and 16 I tentatively plan to start Tebow.

On the other hand, if this week he's going "to face the full wrath of a talented defense -- not great defense, but talented" - what has he faced in the recent past?  Detroit is arguably a better D than the Jets and the Raiders are in the same ballpark.

If I didn't have Palmer or Sanchez this week, I'd lose no sleep over starting Tebow.

But if they win "IF Dogs Fly" then it will be because of TEBOW! WOW you DreamWeaver Tebow Clowns are something. It ammazes me how you feel he can do the job. The young man is a 3rd down back, H-Back or small TE thats it.  If they lose its not his fault. So I guess since he has NO Arm to get the ball there its not his fault.  The J.E.T.S have seen this program before. Remember they face Miami who ran this for 2 year against them.  Advise: use EXTRA COLD water Tim when washing your uniform the week. Your gonna need it to get out the stains!

Don't let facts get in your freaking way, moron.  Did you watch the 56 yards bomb to Decker last week- not a short, yards after the fact- but a legi NFL bomb?  If the receivers (alleged) had caught any of the other passes that hit them in the hands, we could be talking about a 6/8, 200 yared day, despite only calling eight passes by design.  The conservative game plan wasn't just because of Tebow- it was as much to protect a defense that has shown a penchant for tiring and giving up big plays all year.  Ball control is designed to protect defenses, dictate pace, and shorten the game for you football illiterates.  The Broncos were 1-4 with a "legit" traditional pitch and catch guy who stayed cooperatively in the pocket getting stats and taking sacks.  The unorthodox, scrambling-throwing guy is 3-1 and driving defenses nuts with the read option.  Oh, F.Y.I.- when they stacked the box, he threw a stike for a TD.  Even if the receivers don't catch cold, if Decker can catch every eighth pass for a TD, we'll take it.  By the way, no turnovers works just fine.  How many chuck and duck guys have gone four games with one turnover?  None?  I thought so.  Most coaches will tell you that's the one stat that matters in Ws and Ls.  Moron.

So for the mighty Jets it should be simple to win, just ask the Raiders or Chiefs.  They knew what was coming and could not stop it.  Either way the Jets are not going to the Playoffs.  I know the Broncos are probably not going, too.  Also, Miami ran the system much differnently and the Broncos run it all game.  Oh and don't mock another teams qb until you can get a real one.

I don't know who is more of a Tebow Hater...you...or your lover Petey Prisco. You are both "failed" writers at the Florida Times-Union and you both are equally bad with CBS Sports. Hopefully Petey will leave Jacksonville soon and go live with you. Just the thought of you two lovers being together makes me want to puke.

Does anyone analyze football or do they just spout off? John Fox who, yes doesnt support Tebow, is not a great offensive coach. He was run out of Carolina because he stuck with the suck-hole qb who maybe put up the worst 6 game experience in NFL history. How is it last yr as a rookie Tebow in the 3 hgame he started avg over 250 yds himslef with one 300 yd game and this yr he cant throw a ball 5 yds down the filed. In the Miami game he chucked it fine and  they won. The guy has started 7 games in his career with two different coaches and styles give him a fucking break

As long as he doesn't, you know....throw any passes, he should be okay. I'm not exactly picking Denver to win either, but if they lose it won't be because of 15.
