NFL won't act on Suh immediately

Don't expect the NFL to act on the reprehensible foot stomp by Ndamukong Suh this week.

An NFL spokesman told me that plays from Week 12 to be reviewed for potential discipline will be done so under the league's normal guidelines after the completion of all games. Repeat: all games.

So no decision until, at the earliest, Tuesday and likely after that.

Based on information from several league sources few would be surprised if Suh was suspended for at least several games and possibly the remainder of the season. The NFL is understandably angry. The dirty cheap shot happened during one of the league's most visible days.

NFL won't act on Suh immediately

MIKE,

This makes little sense too,1st off Moore was not blocking Stafford all the way down the field, and how can Moore block Stafford and the 2 others guys at the same time. And do you really think bringing up another dirty play by the Lions player makes your case stronger?

brian,

the last person on the field a defensive player needs to worry about making a tackle is the QB.  they have as much of a chance of making the tackle as a kicker or punter.  in moore's case -- he was so worried about going after stafford -- he let two lions run directly past him to make the play on the bears player who intercepted the ball.

i brought up the play to point out -- that is what defensive players do when there is a fumble or interception -- they go after the QB.  it isn't only the lions and fairley -- EVERY defense goes after the QB as they are free game once there is a turnover.  hell -- go look up warren sapp's block he put on a QB -- i guarantee there is a youtube video -- he absolutely lays out a QB with an illegal hit after a turnover.  it is the NFL -- it happens.

NFL won't act on Suh immediately

Are you really SERIOUS comparing this Thug with Butkus.Suh had a great rookie season but this year he has 3 sacks
brian,

i think you missed the point of the comparison -- butkus is in the hall of fame and has his number retired at soldier field by the bears.  he was also one of the dirtiest players to ever play the game.  if you want to see a highlight film that would have him kicked out the NFL in today's game -- go to youtube and look up dick butkus hits.  LOL.  when he tackled guys, he wanted to behead them.

NFL won't act on Suh immediately

Don't act on it immediately, but ACT ON IT MR HIGH AND MIGHTY GOODALL!

SERIOUSLY????? Every time a WR is hit with shoulder pad these days there's a penalty attached. "To protect the players" has become the BS moniker. You want to protect players? Protect them from POS's like Suh. He tries to rip people's helmets off. Early in the game he was flagged for a hands to the face penalty that would have had him thrown in jail had he not been wearing an NFL uniform.

This guy is BAD NEWS and kudos to the Lions for publicly chastising his disgusting actions today. Now we need Mr. High and Mighty to weigh in.....after threatening a suspension to E. Bennett of the Bears for wearing ORANGE SHOES....how many games does a POS get for trying to kick someone and rip him to shreds?

Please tell us Mr. High and Mighty Goodell.

NFL won't act on Suh immediately

suspect suh will get about a 25-50K fine & a 1-game suspension.
doubt the commish has the balls to punish him more,
even though the thug was initially a defiant liar about his actions.

apparently their orchestrated meeting earlier this year didn't impress ndamukong.
didn't he remember what happened to fellow-stomper hainesworth ?

the forced apology and any false remorse are pretty meaningless.
he should have contacted the victim (lol) immediately after the game & apolgized.
but instead,  he waited for the lions to script out his meager attempt at redemption.

NFL won't act on Suh immediately

This play was dumb not just because it’s the latest incident from Suh, a guy who is about to significantly add to the $42,500 he has been docked by the NFL in less than two full seasons. Not just because he further affirmed his reputation as the NFL’s dirtiest player (as named recently among his peers by The Sporting News). Rather, it was those two plus the fact that Suh cost his team a chance to win.

Suh was stupid and should get fined and miss a game. BUT.. let's not get stupid here.  James Harrison was fined 125,000 dollars in less then 2 years as well and didn't get suspended once.  Harrison also publicly mocked Goodell and the league about the fines, and said publicly how much he loves it when he "puts opposing players to sleep" with his vicious and intentional helmut to helmut hits on unsuspecting players and players in vulnerable positions.   He never once showed any real remorse either,,,,, yet no suspensions.

The more I think about it the league might not even suspend Suh but if they do, it'll be one game max.
