Harrison likely fined, not suspended

Multiple NFL sources say Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison will likely receive a hefty fine but not be suspended.

This could always change -- these things are never set in stone -- but there are strong indications from a variety of sources that Harrison is due for a fine that could be extremely significant, I'm told. Considering Harrison's history it would not be shocking if the fine approached six figures.

Harrison's hit on Cleveland quarterback Colt McCoy was crown to crown, but McCoy lowering his head beforehand helps Harrison's case, I'm told. But with Harrison's history, and the fact he struck McCoy with crown of his helmet, will lead to a significant fine.

LOL!! I agree with you 1stBallot, I definitely believe they went to a football game one day and expected a pillow fight to break out, and yelled and screamed when someone actually got hit. Now they are making sure our football game is played by a bunch of pu$$ies and won't stop the bashing until it happens. You people are pathetic and shoudn't be allowed near a TV. Let the hit and let them suffer the consequences of being a football player. I agree, the cheap shots should still be banned, but not the actual football moves.

Wow, now were going all the way to calling up my favorite teams.. desperate much? I am a tough guy and I am willing to meet the person behind the keyboard... are you? It's not an act, it's put up, or shut up. I don't mind you calling me out, but be willing to back it up. I was always taught talk is chaep... actions speak louder than words... are you a man, or a mouse? It's ok, I probably already know the answer to that. It's ok, I know my intelligence level and know I got you and your other anti- hitting friends beat in that department, hands down. All I want for Christmas is to meet you, and your fellow keyboard Rambo's and show you what I got. Are you game? I think NOT... It's ok to back away and just keep posting your drivel on here and stay anonomously behind your computer. You don't want any of this, because it would be your last!! Now carry on with all of you whining and idle threats and personal attacks against me as I don't really care to do that anymore. I want to meet you and your friends face to face...not keep posting it on here. NOw, are you MAN enough to do it?

-- don't play football.  it's violent.
He wasn't talking about football. He was talking about cheap shots. There is a difference, you see. <---Probably not.

Sorry to hear their injuries came back to haunt them..
Yes, the tone of your comments positively drip with sincerity, here.

Sorry to hear these families were  that dumb to know injuries happen and accumulate... Pretty common sense...
Pretty common sense over the past 20 or so years, which would would include almost none of the players he's talking about. The players he was talking about came from an era when we didn't know the long-term effects of low-energy, high-dispersal blunt-force trauma. It was not common sense. The safety rules that exist now were enacted because of what happened to those players. The only "dumb" people in this situation are the idiots who behave as if the privilege of hindsight should be used to bash people who didn't know any better.

Play rugby...
At least they don't need to strap on 40 pounds of armor to hit each other; that's football. I mean, really, do you know anything?

As said before, take away a few game checks, and they will eventually learn to play within the rules.

You DO lower your head when you go to tackle, otherwise you go in straight up and break your neck. My GOD you anti-hitting people make me sick.
First of all, bags, you're wrong.  That's why they coach players to "SEE WHAT THEY HIT" from about the age of 5 on.  Clearly you either never played...or had awful coaching.  Either way, you don't know what you're talking about.

Secondly, stop acting tough because you watch the Steelers.  Watching a tough football team "in Steeler Nation" does not make you any tougher...or more intelligent.
Thirdly, you seem to like all Pittsburgh teams except the Pirates.  The Red Sox, huh?  Fair weather much???
