Fisher faces classic choice

Jeff Fisher will make a decision soon and I'm told, for the moment, there's no clear favorite.

A source familiar with Fisher's thinking tells me Fisher's representation has discussed financial parameters of a deal with both Miami and St. Louis and for now Fisher is "completely torn" about where to go.

The source said Fisher would likely become one of the top five highest paid coaches in football if he went to the Dolphins. The source also said the deal Fisher's representation is discussing with the Rams may not be as lucrative. However, during his meeting with the Rams, I'm told, Rams officials pushed on Fisher the idea that he'd have a franchise quarterback in place.

In Miami, Fisher could make more money. With the Rams, he might have an easier route to a title because that team has a solid quarterback situation (not to mention a great running back situation).

People who know Fisher well say cash isn't foremost on his mind which is why Rams seem to be the likely landing spot.

But again, Fisher is genuinely torn, I'm told, and hasn't made a concrete decision.

And as I've reported before he is still looking to make a decision sometime early next week and though it remains unlikely don't be surprised if a surprise team jumps into the fray at the last second.

Those of you who want Fisher as your next head coach, think about what he has done.  Uum, nothing!  As a Titans fan, I was glad to see him leave!  He is an underachieving head coach and is way overrated!

How are the patriots better? Can you tell me what team with a winning record the patriots beat this year? And that being said the only team they beat who made the playoffs was denver. I am not saying they had an easy time but everytime they faced a team with a winning record or a shot to do something this year they lost.

I hope that Coach Fisher signs on with the Rams. He is going to have Bradford there. Bradford will be a great QB in this league for many years. McDaniels set him back alot, then he got hurt. Adam Shien and Rich Gannon were spot on when they said that McDaniels will do more harm than good for young Mr. Bradford. Take the Rams job Coach!!

pybow..... u sit here and dog Marino that is sacreligious he may have never got a ring but he also never had a defense or a running game he was the greatest QB to ever throw a football im not talking bout from a ring standpoint im talking about throwing the football from the Pocket he is the reason that Qbs today get the chance to throw the ball way they do he led the way for all the passing offenses of today if he was in his prime in this era of football with all the cissy qb rules they have now and fact they dont let DBs mug the receivers way they did when Dan and th Marx brothers played marino with the 84 offense he had would have the record and it be for over 6000 yards so for all you put on rings Dan Marino had the quickest release ever seen and he also was as accurate as anyone that ever played not to mention he had a cannon and he didnt cry like Brady does everytime a DL even blinks at him he slid rd in the pocket with finesse wasnt pretty but he was the least sacked Qb in history so what he did worked so before you go talking smack about Marino you need to do some research on just how great the Man was at his craft and what he did that led the way for the Brees Rodgers Bradys and Staffords of today not to mention he like Peyton manning called his own plays something none of these other cissified primadonnas these days dont do anymore so really before you speak know what all the man did for the game of football he may have not got a ring but he was still the best to ever throw a football

The Rams have good young core of players its amazing what a coach can do with talent that the previous coach couldnt just look at the SF 49ers they pretty much had all same players a year ago and stunk it up under singletary Harbaugh comes in and they are #2 seed in NFC so even though im a Dolphins fan if i was fisher and looking at the two rosters the Rams have lot more talent on paper on both sides of the ball ... and someone else posted how Bradford stunk this year .. he was hurt all year so you cant judge him based on his inury plagued season however he does get hurt alot so if i was the next HC there id trade him for picks use their #2 on Griffin and with the extra picks get skill players to go with griffin like say Justin Blackmon which if they keep Bradford Blackmon needs to be their pick at #2 because they would play next 10 years together and could be like Harrison and Manning were for many years in INDY

Sortuva nothing news flash - Fisher will go to Miami or St Louis or someplace else.  Wow, hoodathunkit?  I hope Fisher comes to KC where his smash-mouth style is what every Chiefs fan thinks of when they think football.

The ultimate $ payoff (next contract) will be tied to success - winning a SB.  Also the last item to be put on his resume.  If you were Fisher, would you rather have an SB path that goes thru the NFC-W or AFC-E?  Overall he'd have to eventually go thru NO & GB for the next few seasons, but he's probably also tired of having to go thru Pitt and NE as head of the Titans.  He'd also be judged in his 1st season with a last place NFC-W (worst in the NFC) determined schedule rather than a 3rd place AFC-E determined schedule - not a huge difference but maybe a couple easier games.  I'm not totally sold on Fisher, but if I were him I'd take the Ram's job.

Milky..... Norv is an outstanding OC just not good head coach if he were available as an OC every team in the league would be chomping at the bit to get him........... as for other coaches named Cowher is only going to the Giants and if they lose tomorrow coughlin may still be out.... Dungy is out of coaching for good hes happy doin broadcast and better off healthwise.... Gruden is only going somewhere with great Qb in place and somewhere he doesnt have to rebuild just coach which i think he woulod have taken SD job had it been available..... Billick on the other hand would be an intriguing choice however no one seems to want him then again could be because his last few years in Bmore werent exactly successful and for an offensive guy his offenses in baltimore stunk so think hes lost lil bit of sizzle round the league because no one has even contacted him......
