Jeff Fisher continues to contemplate coaching the Rams or the Dolphins, though it is increasingly looking like Fisher has all but made a decision.

A source close to Fisher says the former Titans coach is "95 percent certain" he's going to accept an offer from the Rams. An official decision could come early next week.

Now, there's a caveat here, and it's a big one. It's the wallet of Miami owner Stephen Ross. It's very possible Ross makes a huge, final offer that could sway Fisher. So far, a source says, that hasn't happened.

But that doesn't mean it won't and that's the only reason, I'm told, it's not a totally done deal. Fisher is waiting for the final word from Ross.

A source also confirmed Fisher has a fear the Rams might move to Los Angeles, though that isn't said to be a deal-breaker.

But everything continues to point to Fisher coaching the Rams with the Ross wallet being the only possible hangup.

He could prove me wrong, and I'm not normally a fan of retread coaches.  But, I'm also believer that on occasion, coaches are victim of situation.  I think Fisher is a great coach.I know he had more losing seasons than winning, and he really only had one playoff run to speak of, but the guy was a few feet from a SB title.  And, let's be honest, with the exception of Steve McNair, he never had a real QB in Tennessee.  And, even McNair was injury prone.  He worked for a goofball owner, and he was asked to win with the likes of Kerry Collins and Vince Young.  In addition, he had to go through the move from Houston to Nashville.

I think if he is in the right situation, he will be one of the NFL's best coaches.

Having said that, I think IF he has a good feeling that the Ram's won't move to LA, he should take that job.  People can say what they want, but Miami is a joke for a sports town.

Go to the Rams where a minimum of 8 games per year will be played indoors.  6 more will be played in Seattle, San Fran, and AZ.  It's a conference that can be contended for on a yearly basis.  You have a QB with potential of being a fixture for 10-12 years, which is probably about as long as Fisher would care to coach.  You have the 2nd pick in this draft, could potentially grab Trent Richardson to follow Jackson.

I just think all around it's a better situation.  This is a team with some tools that is not that far from contending.

Miami has no offense at all and has to compete with the Patriots every year and the Jets and Bills who are normally tough places to play.

Go to the Arch!!

Miami has a better QB? Really?! Matt Moore was a #1 pick, won a hiesman, and broke rookie NFL records??? I am Miami fan first and foremost but that is really silly. Matt Moore might be ok but hardly a franchise QB. I was also take steven jackson over reggie bush, Jackson is in the top 5 running backs over the past few years in yards, Bush has had one decent season.

Overall Miami is a better team both offensively and defensively and Miami is the better overall franchise. But to not think St. Louis' offer is attractive is just foolish. Franchise QB, #2 pick this year, input into who the GM will be (unlike Miami). St. Louis plays in a much weaker division so making the playoffs should be easier.

Honestly I hope he DOES take the Rams job and Miami gets the OC from Green Bay. Fisher is overrated IMO.

Fisher to StL makes sense.  1) He'd have the Coach/GM power he's had before and wants.  2)  If STL does move Fisher has been there done that with Houston->Tennesee he could get a fan base back in LA though I think there is one already just waiting honestly.  3) I don't see Miami because I see Fisher not wanting to work with King Carl...who would the guy is another one of these Mega-egomaniacs that just acre about bottom line and not about winning Peterson wouldn't make the Cheifs a legitimate SB team jsut enough to have them win to keep teasing the fans and have us buy the tickets with delusional, false hopes...I don't blame Fisher in anyway if he chooses STL I just wish the Hunts would have done what it takes to get him in KC just shows yet again KC's unwillingness to truly make another of its sports team a true sad.

I clicked on this article just to see if it was filled with unnamed sources and speculation that is presented as fact.  I was not disappointed.  Keep it up Freeman.

I say the Rams go back to LA, Cards return to St. L and Phoenix can keep Nash and spring training... fisher is a good coach, but not the only good coach available.  Either way both teams suck and no coach short of Belichek or Parcells could turn either francise around..
