The Miami Dolphins have completed their coaching search and hired Joe Philbin, according to a team source.

Philbin was the Packers' offensive coordinator and by many accounts he is one of the league's bright young talents. Now, it's easy to be a bright young talent when you have Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback but Philbin is still extremely innovative.

The Dolphins need an offensive mind and it also doesn't hurt the Dolphins that Philbin is tied to Matt Flynn, the quarterback in Green Bay.

A source close to Flynn told me that Flynn would "love to the challenge of being a starter" but emphasized he's loyal to the Packers. But if you had to wager don't put a lot of cash on Flynn staying in Green Bay.

It's been an emotional ride for Philbin and his family. Philbin lost his son in a tragic accident and now, just a short time later, he's set to become coach of the Dolphins.

I don't know if Miami should go out and drop 25 million in guarantees on a guy who could turn out to be an AJ Feeley type guy.  Now he could become a Matt Schaub instead, but Flynn is smaller and has a weaker arm.  I say just let Moore start, draft a rookie, maybe Tannehill, that is if Mike Sherman thinks he has potential, and let him sit behind Moore for a season or two.  Philbin will probably have the final say on this matter as he knows Matt Flynn better than any other person in the dolphins organization.

And just a few days ago, Mike McCoy, believing he had the Miami job sewn up, blew off Reggie McKenzie for the Raider's HC opening.

Perfect. Without wasting several hours of his life in an interview, Reggie discovered everything he needs to know about McCoy’s judgement, intelligence and maturity level.

In other words: HAHAHAHAHA

Oh, and good luck with Philbin, Dolphin fans. He seems like a sharp guy.

Congrats to Joe and his family. After the recent loss they have suffered, may he find new successes.
